The Horsetail is a brown plant that sticks out of the ground stiff like a post. It is a hardy plant that can survive when its supply of nourishment is very low in variety and quality, thus making it seen more often in rather shady places, such as caves. This plant reproducts by the release of spores. This plant, like most others, provides no help or threat to you and the Pikmin.

It has an appearance in the game Super Paper Mario, in which it restored 7 HP if eaten. Although it is rather unlikely that this is a direct reference to Pikmin, the series probably inspired the appearence in Paper Mario.
