It is also the only part found on the first day in ''[[Pikmin (game)|Pikmin]],'' so that [[Captain Olimar]] is able to lift off from the [[The Impact Site|crash site]] to escape the planet's nocturnal [[Enemy reel|beasts]]. He is able to transport this part with the help of the [[Red Pikmin|Pikmin]] he discovers upon landing on the [[Pikmin Planet|planet]]. When the Main Engine is restored to the ''S.S. Dolphin'', the ship will flip over, and the part will be added to the bottom of the ship, allowing Olimar to continue on to [[The Forest of Hope]] to find the rest of his lost ship parts. In ''[[Pikmin 2]]'', the [[Dream Den]] cave is found in the same location as the Main Engine.

[[File:Main_Engine_Found.png|thumb|left|Captain Olimar finding the Main Engine.]]The first day consists of the main tutorial about the [[Pikmin (species)|Pikmin]]. Once Olimar gets the first Pikmin, start collecting all the [[Pellet]]s including the ones on the two small stumps with ten or more Pikmin. They must then be commanded to move the box. Once the box is out of the way, Olimar can find the engine. Head up the rocks where the box made a ramp and get all of the Pellets until Olimar has twenty to twenty five Pikmin. Now the Pikmin can pick up the most important part of the [[S.S. Dolphin]]. Once the Pikmin carry it back to the ship, the day will end, and they will automatically go back to their [[Onion]].
