When a new Pikmin game is revealed and trailers and screenshots become public, everybody will want to contribute info to the wiki. To make sure everything is organized, let's all follow this guide.

When a trailer is released

  • Go to game's "Trailers" section and add a link to it.
  • Go to the game's "Known information" section and dump anything you find of interest about the game.

When an image is released

  • If it is noteworthy, upload it to the wiki.
  • Its filename must never be something like IMG112895461_002.jpg. Even if it's an unknown enemy in an unknown area, you should write something descriptive.
  • The description must state where the image comes from. This includes both its location (website) and the event (a Nintendo direct, an E3 conference, etc.); the date of the event must also be written.
  • It must be categorized under Category:<game name> reveal images.

When an enemy is revealed

  • Edit the game article's list of enemies and include the new enemy.
  • If it's a returning enemy...
    • Go to its article, and add an "In <game name>" section at the top. Include all known information about it here, even if it's just "it has been confirmed to return". Cite your sources and use {{futuregame}}.
  • If it's a new enemy:
    • Add a sub-section about it on the enemies section of the game's article. If its name is unknown, use a descriptive title, with the word "Unknown" in it (e.g. Unknown fiery beetle, Unknown flying purple monster). In this section, write all known info, and remember to cite your sources.

When a character is revealed

  • Edit the game article's list of characters and include the new character.
  • If it's a returning character:
    • Go to their article, and add an "In <game name>" section at the top. Include all known information about it here, even if it's just "it has been confirmed to return". Cite your sources and use {{futuregame}}.
  • If it's a new character:
    • Add a sub-section about them on the characters section of the game's article. Write all known info, and cite your sources.
