	I don't know if I ever encountered this glitch, but it might be due to [[Candypop Bud]]s. When a Pikmin is thrown in, that Pikmin is lost (but the game doesn't accept it as "killed"), and a new Pikmin appears (the game doesn't treat it as "born").
