Just added the dialog from the 'Debt Reypayment' cutscence as well as the ship's dialogue from the opening cutscene. {{User:Volatile Dweevil/Vol2}}

Revision as of 19:13, April 23, 2012

I've transcribed these from day 1 and 2, and the first one in day 3, but haven't got the time to create the article now; just putting them here so that no-one bothers redoing what I've done, and so anyone who wants to can write a short introduction and organise these with titles for each entry. Since Pikmin 2 only uses one alternative colour (red) apart from one case (the blue "Louie"s in the first entry), I used bold instead of colouring. (Maybe the bolded "Olimar" in the first entry should actually be red, though?)

[stuff moved to article]

And a quick list of things the ship says something at; add stuff I've missed:

  • Pikmin (sighting, obtaining, abilities discovered)
  • sprays (collecting berries, making spray out of, collecting drop, using)
  • nectar, nectar weed, rubble
  • candypop buds (just purple and white?)
  • hazards (fire, water, poison, electricity)
  • Bulbmin
  • cave (one per cave)
  • day 1
  • day 2
  • day 3 (the one I've done, and that one thing a few minutes in - not sure if that's day 3 or first day in AW)
  • end of day
  • EK (+ finding globes)
  • CM unlocked
  • TD
  • debt repayment
  • all Pikmin lost

Well, GP... You didn't have to go through that trouble, for one simple reason: You checked every text in the game itself, when you could've checked the ROM. I could've done it. It's actually a bit harder than reading the text from the first game's ROM, but it's still possible. When I'm no longer sick, I'll check out the strings inside the ROM file and add everything that's missing. {EspyoT} 18:59, 1 April 2011 (EDT)

But does it say which day in the ROM? Vol (Talk)
...Can't believe I didn't use the talk page. Yeah, I realised, but 3 things: I don't have one to hand; I was playing through it anyway; and I expect there's something to be said for seeing it all in the context of actually playing through the game, whether it makes clearer the order, emphasis, triggers, or something else.
I'm interested in how it encodes the colours in the strings in the disk image, though. GP
We need to confirm if there are any strings missing then. {EspyoT} 08:28, 2 April 2011 (EDT)

A question...

Should we or should we not create the page "Ship's dialogs" and transfer all the ship's dialogs into it? I've repaid the debt; if anybody wants me to help, please, ask me. --PikminFanatic23 19:32, 8 March 2012 (EST)

We should. You can help by getting dialogues for the things I listed (and if you can think of anything else there's dialogs for, mention it here). I'm not sure why we never started, but I'll create the page later today (if I remember...). GP 05:18, 9 March 2012 (EST)
We should've already had this finished, but it's just like tons of other articles - we discuss something on the talk page, and it eventually dies. {EspyoT} 15:11, 9 March 2012 (EST)
Ok, that's great. I can start right away. Also, should we add this as one of the current projects? --PikminFanatic23 20:44, 9 March 2012 (EST)
Hmm...yes. GP 05:29, 10 March 2012 (EST)

Cutscene dialog

Should the ship's dialog from the Debt Repayment cutscene be included in this article? Vol (Talk)

Yep, but isn't this article a WIP? {EspyoT} 08:05, 22 April 2012 (EDT)
It's in the list at the top of this page. GP 13:47, 22 April 2012 (EDT)

Just added the dialog from the 'Debt Reypayment' cutscence as well as the ship's dialogue from the opening cutscene. Vol (Talk)
