To answer your question about linking to NIWA members, you can see a list of wikis for which interwiki linking is set up [[special:interwiki|here]]. At the moment, you'll have to trawl through (or search in) that list; I'll get the some (NIWA, Wikia, Wikipedia) added to a help page somewhere. :::Yeah, I usually try to do it if I find the welcome template before someone notices that I've joined, but I've only done it on Bulbanews and here so far.
