Summary This is why the day 1 escape sequence break can't be used to lower the minimum number of days necessary to complete Pikmin 3. After performing it, the Onion will not appear in any area, since it wasn't unlocked in Alph's section of day 1, so it is impossible to obtain any Pikmin, and therefore impossible to complete the game. (Also note that both the pellets in this screenshot are yellow – this is because Yellow Pikmin were the only type obtained, and all the pellets in the area are yellow as a result.)
