They are usually found in tight groups and typically near [[Kingcap]]s, so they typically block passageways. Some Spotcaps however can be found by themselves, out of the way. [[Leader]]s can use their [[Pikmin family|Pikmin]] to destroy Spotcaps.

Spotcaps have varying sizes, near those of a leader. If a Pikmin is [[Charge|issued]] to attack a Spotcap, they'll pummel it for a bit, until it shrivels up and disappears, but if a Pikmin is [[throw]]n straight towards its top, it will crush the fungus and destroy it straight away. == Poison Spotcap ==

The '''Poison Spotcap''' is a variant of the Spotcap found exclusively in {{p4}}. It is rarer than its normal counterpart, only being found in 1 above ground [[area]], the [[Primordial Thicket]], and 3 [[cave]]s, the [[Doppelgänger's Den]], [[Engulfed Castle]] and [[Cavern for a King]]. It functions the same as normal Spotcaps, except it can only be attacked by [[White Pikmin]], [[Glow Pikmin]], and [[Oatchi]] with the {{oatchi|Sniff Saver}} due to the [[poison]] it emits. Poison Spotcaps can also be destroyed quickly by Oatchi's [[Rush]] if he has the {{oatchi|Sniff Saver}} equipped. Despite the [[rookie Rescue Officer]] being immune to poison, they cannot punch down Poison Spotcaps.

== Trivia ==
*Spotcaps and Kingcaps share many similarities to [[Dwarf Bulborb]]s, and [[Bulborb]]s, respectively. Spotcaps and Dwarf Bulborbs each have 100 health, while Kingcaps and Bulborbs each have 1000.
