Include track images?[edit]

The Super Mario Wiki Nintendo Music pages include images for each track. Can Pikipedia do this as well? - My icon used for signature Pipro (talk) (contributions) 14:41, December 31, 2025 (EST)

Well, yeah. But the Pikmin series is smaller than the Mario series, so there are less people making this wiki a Mario Wiki-styled page. ~~ PikminKart User image. SuperCircuit ~ Pikmin Fanon admin ~ 15:51, December 31, 2025 (EST)
This would require uploading a large number of images, and I'm not sure if it would be a significant improvement to documentation. — Soprano(talk) 21:04, December 31, 2025 (EST)
Now that the music tracks for Pikmin have been added to the app, I brought up this topic again in the Discord server (without knowing this talk page discussion existed), and there was mixed opinions on it: some say images should be uploaded (such as myself) whereas others disagree.
The main points against images being uploaded were the large amount of images needing to be uploaded, it wouldn't improve documentation much, and it may make pages load slower.
  • 1: I don't think the large amount of images needing to be uploaded is an issue, as in, I don't think the fact that many images needing to be uploaded (186) is a reason against uploading them. I would agree if it's an issue with storage, but time isn't really a good argument in my opinion.
  • 2: I also don't think the point on not improving documentation is that good either. Any documentation should be good documentation. Even if it helps one person, it's worth doing. When I saw the track images, I remember one having a Puffstool, but I couldn't remember which song it was for. If it were to look on the wiki, I wouldn't find out, but if images were uploaded, then I would've been able to find out without needing the app; useful for those without an NSO subscription - I don't believe you can access anything on the app without it, so a user couldn't check for themselves (may be wrong?)
  • 3: For the slower pages, this is still an issue. Some suggestions could be having subpages or using collapsible pages. This is the only key issue I don't have a huge suggestion for otherwise. Other NIWA wikis either have them on the main page, like the MiiWiki, or have dedicated subpages (or list pages) for each playlist, like WiKirby or the Super Mario Wiki.
These were the main points made I believe, though there's a chance I've missed some. – Chazmatron, signing off! (TALK) 21:00, 30 May, 2026 (BST)
