"Crumbug" is a combination of "crumb" and "bug", as a play on the pun used for the [[Breadbug]]'s name, since a crumb is a small piece of bread. Its Japanese name translates to "Bite-Sized Pseudo Bread", a play on the Breadbug's Japanese name, "Pseudo Bread". It is obviously smaller and resembles bread, giving it "bite-sized" in its name. In its scientific name, ''Pansarus carponae'', ''carponae'' may be referring to "carpet", because crumbs often get stuck in them. It's internal name is <code>kopan</code>, meaning "co bread". Its generator name is simply <code>enemy_walker</code>, referring to its trait to constantly walk back and forth.
