- Most glitches in the Pikmin games are random; there's not really much you can do to replicate most of them, so it's just a matter of how much you play the game and how (un)lucky you are. GP 16:27, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- This particular glitch is also pretty hard to notice. I'm pretty sure it's happened to me several times in Pikmin 1, since I've looked down and suddenly noticed that I only had 99 Pikmin when I'm sure I took 100 out and don't remember seeing any die. —Jimbo Jambo

- A mix of this and the Carrying glitch happened when my Pikmin were trying to pick up a dead Spotty Bulbear. It squished them and they died without a ghost or sound, but their count was lowered. 76.104.233.129
