Defeating a Dwarf Fiery Bulblax is a relatively simple ordeal.  Throwing at least a handful of Red Pikmin will dispatch the creature fairly quickly.  However, while it is moving, it will leave behind a trail of fire. Despite only being able to eat 2 Pikmin at a time, the speed at which it eats lends it the powerful ability to decimate groups of Pikmin.

It's recommended to simply stand a decent distance away from it, facing its front side, and use Red Pikmin. Carefully however, as throwing any other type of Pikmin will result in them burning and not doing any damage, no matter where they land.
