Hi guys! I’m SeaSideShell, or SeaSide for short. I have only played Pikmin 3 Deluxe but have extensive knowledge about the rest of the series. I mainly edit stubs/articles with to-do lists, and I have the most knowledge on the creatures of Pikmin (the Pikmin themselves and enemies). You might just say I should be called the Pikmin Biologist! I am currently working on a Pikmin comic known as The Comic Adventures of PIKMIN, but I might never publicly show it. I am a beginner digital artist who is basically self-taught.

Played Games
Pikmin 3 Deluxe

As you can see, I haven’t played many Pikmin games at all. I hope to play the Pikmin mobile game and Pikmin 4 when they come out.

My opinion on Pikmin in a top 7 format
Pikmin Type Number
Purple 7
Blue 6
Rock 5
Red 4
Winged 3
White 2
Yellow 1

Here are my reasonings:

Purple: I understand that Purple Pikmin may just be the most overpowered Pikmin the franchise has seen to date, but I’m rating these Pikmin based on both looks and abilities, and Purple Pikmin definitely aren’t my favorite in terms of looks. I don’t necessarily hate their bulbous bodies and small whisker-like thingies on the side of their heads, but they are the least attractive Pikmin to me. I also dislike that, in terms of abilities, they are so unbalanced compared to the other Pikmin.

Blue: Don’t get me wrong, Blue Pikmin are pretty cute. But their designs do seem a little lackluster and they are lacking in function. Sure, going underwater with Pikmin is extremely helpful, but that is all. They. Do. No extra abilities, just that they have invisible gills. Definitely one of the least diverse Pikmin, and they just seem like they act as “keys” to get to certain areas.

Rock: This is where the going gets tough. I love all of the Pikmin from this point on, and it was really hard to put Rock Pikmin in this spot. They are frankly adorable but aren’t AS good-looking/interesting as the next few Pikmin. Overall they have a pretty solid and balanced set of abilities.

Red: Red Pikmin sort of seem like the Pikachu of Pikmin. They are pretty generic but I still end up loving them. Their noses are adorable and their fire resistance and extra strength is useful.

Winged: Winged Pikmin are definitely my favorite of the two newest editions. I dig the more insect-like design and the big blue eyes. As an added bonus, their sounds are super cute. They have a lot of usefulness and are very efficient at carrying things.

White: Small, cute but creepy looking, and absolutely deadly. I love them because of how interesting their abilities are: no other Pikmin does stuff to enemies when consumed. Sure, they are a little bit overpowered, but this time I think its more balanced. I overall like White Pikmin, but not as much as number 1…

Yellow: The Yellow Pikmin is the holy grail of Pikmin design for one reason: the ears. They are adorable and feel so natural that if I was only shown a Yellow Pikmin and had no knowledge about the series except for that there were different Pikmin types with different body features, I would figure that every Pikmin had ears like that. In fact, I sort of wish they all did! The abilities are decent but sort of limited to being useful only during the Vehemoth Phosbat fight in Pikmin 3, but the pros outweigh the cons for me big time.

That’s all I have for now! Thanks for reading! ——SeaSideShell
