Fiery Bulblaxes are rather odd, grotesque looking creatures. Their body parts appeal the distinction that they are melting apart, and one of their eyes is smaller than the other. Its fiery aura is caused by the glands and oils on this creature's body that make it burn. Only Red Pikmin can withstand the blaze of this creature's body. However, if lured to water, the flame will go out, making it a prime target for Blue Pikmin, it would be wise if doing so that you would want to use a spray to avoid losing any Pikmin since this grub-dog is more aggresive. Another good, but risky, spray conserving way to kill them is either kill them manually, or use this strategy:

  • 1. Get your Purple Pikmin and get behind the bulblax if you can.
  • 2. Start throwing 'mins by using the C-stick tactic.
  • 3. After you throw all of them, or most of them, the bulblax should be stunned, call your panicking Pikmin and repeat until the bulblax is finished, make sure you call them effectively, or they'll be burned again when they come back to you.
  • a. If the bulblax isn't stunned when you throw your Pikmin, immediately call your troops and pull out. Wait for the bulblax to get off your tail and then try again.

You should get better at this if you practice. This is useful for the Cavern of Chaos's Sublevel 2 since there are three of them in there.

As a side note, your Pikmin may get stuck under the torso of this creature when they carry it, if that happens, call them and try dismissing them to pick it up.
