The Sphere Chart is one of the devices in the Exploration Kit. Its purpose is as a source of data on the Pikmin planet; specifically, in Pikmin 2, it provides the ship with co-ordinates that allow the player to progress to the Awakening Wood. For this, you'll need to retrieve the Spherical Atlas, which is located in the Emergence Cave, in the Valley of Repose. Carrying it requires the strength of 101 normal Pikmin, which means that Purple Pikmin are required. Ten of these are found on the same sublevel, near the geyser at the end, in the form of two Violet Candypop Buds.
