The '''Bowsprit''' ({{j|バウスプリット|Bausupuritto|Bowsprit}}) is a ship part in ''[[Pikmin (game)|Pikmin]]'' and [[Olimar's Shipwreck Tale]] in {{p4}}. It is the "face" of the [[S.S. Dolphin]], designed by [[Captain Olimar]], and gives the Dolphin its sleek shape. In ''Pikmin'', it can be found inside the [[Armored Cannon Beetle]] in the central tree stump of [[The Distant Spring]].

Once recovered, it is installed on its rightful place, as the nose of the Dolphin.

Getting it requires many steps. First, defeat all [[Bulbear]]s and [[Puffy Blowhog]]s that will be in the way back to the ship. There are two paths to get to it: either cross the fire [[geyser]]s near the [[Armored Cannon Beetle]] or take the safe route near the landing site by building the [[twig]] and unplugging the geyser. Then defeat the Beetle and retrieve the part. Build the [[bridge]] and destroy the [[gate]] so Pikmin can carry it back to the Dolphin, defeating the [[Shearwig]]s along the way. Assuming they take the eastern path back to the Dolphin, [[Blue Pikmin]] will carry the part through a shortcut in the water, thus avoiding the three sleeping Bulbears on the way.

===In ''Pikmin 4''===
The Bowsprit sits partially submerged atop a coral reef in the easternmost lake. To acquire it, ferry at least 30 [[Blue Pikmin]] on [[Moss]]'s back across the lake and then throw them at the part. Make sure to defeat the various enemies and clear the obstacles in the way so the Pikmin can carry it safely back to base.

The water surrounding the Bowsprit recedes at noon, effectively turning its coral bed into an island. This makes it possible to retrieve it with any Pikmin type – or with Moss alone if she has Super Buff level 3 – by repeatedly freezing the water with [[Ice Blast]]s. You will need to save up several Ice Blasts in order to do this however.
