Strategy?[edit]

Should we make strategies for Mission Mode stages? I'd say we should just give tips and tricks, not entire strategies. AeroBlaze777sig.png Talk

Well, we do want to have strategies, but not ones that are so intricately detailed, like the one here. These kinds of "strategies" cause headaches for players... ~PikFan23 21:24, 25 August 2014 (EDT)
Maybe add the tips here, and link to a video of a strategy? I don't think that this giant bundle of text would be useful. Nobody's got time to read through that, and would rather see it in action. AeroBlaze777sig.png Talk
We've always had a fair amount of work put into guides. Caves, treasures, enemies, etc. all have these sorts of guides. Not everybody has the availability to watch a video playthrough. For most people, video is better, but we still have to have text. We are a wiki, after all, not a video storage website. Having text and a video to complement it would be the best, but even still, just text will do nicely for a wiki. If people want video guides specifically, they don't go on wikis, they go to YouTube right away. Your idea of having videos is good, but we still have to have text guides. We can debate further the style of the guides, and maybe make those guidelines global for all guides on the wiki, though. — {EspyoT} 14:32, 26 August 2014 (EDT)
Text > video for two reasons: collaboration and accessibility. Wikis are about both of these things. GP 16:35, 26 August 2014 (EDT)
My point is that no one is going to read that big blob of text word for word. We've either to make it more organized, or link to a video walkthrough. Text and video was what I was going at. I sure as heck wouldn't read this whole paragraph. AeroBlaze777sig.png Talk
Ok, I haven't actually read the paragraph thus far (spoilers and all), but now I did actually take a quick look at it. Boy, that thing is hideous. There's no way we're letting that hunk exist. We're still going to use text guides (and with videos on the side), but you were definitely right about one thing: nobody's going to read that word for word. It should be split up into paragraphs and neater sentences, and probably shortened. Just looking at that thing from a glance gave me a headache. — {EspyoT} 11:17, 27 August 2014 (EDT)
