They appear to have tiny scuttling feet before their bulbous backs.

Ujadani are not named in-game; [[#Naming|the name "Ujadani"]] comes from their [[e-Reader]] card, which was only released in Japanese.

In ''Pikmin 2'', two swarms of 70 each can be found on the days they appear. One of the swarms is located near the entrance of the [[Hole of Heroes]], and the other is in the black stone area to the right of the black [[gate]] leading to the [[Dream Den]], on the edge of the clearing of [[Creeping Chrysanthemum]]s.

The creatures can be attacked by [[Pikmin family|Pikmin]], who will smack at it the same way they strike [[rubble]]. Each time one is killed, it has a high chance of releasing [[nectar]] or [[spray]] drops. This makes Ujadani one of the best sources of sprays and nectar in the game. They are technically aggressive and will gather around Pikmin if possible, occasionally poisoning non-[[White Pikmin]]. They attack extremely infrequently; it is quite possible to wipe out one or both swarms without a single Pikmin being poisoned.

If left alone, each Ujadani scurries about near the swarm's lair. They ignore leaders, but once a Pikmin appears, the Ujadani closest to it will start swarming around it. They either move around the Pikmin, hop around it, shake in place for a bit, or jump onto it and let go after a brief moment. Every once in a while, when performing one of these actions, they release some poison that affects the Pikmin, although this release cannot be seen. These behaviors can be observed by having a leader [[throw|hold]] onto a Pikmin, though non-White Pikmin might get affected by the poison and escape the leader's hand.

Because of the massive amount of spray drops an Ujadani swarm can generate when cleared out, they are the single best source of sprays in the game. Given their rarity, it is crucial to make the most of the moment.

There can only be a maximum of 24 nectar drops in an area at one time, be it nectar or sprays. To minimize wasted drops, keep a close eye on the nectar and spray counts, and if no new drops are being produced, call off the Pikmin and collect all useable drops before continuing. Doing this will produce considerably more sprays: it is possible to obtain over 20 of each this way. As all nectar drops count towards the limit, one should keep in mind a way to get rid of the non-spray ones. The easiest method is to clear the area near to the Ujadani swarms of its [[Creeping Chrysanthemum]]s while leaving at least one of the [[Withering Blowhog]]s alive. If enough nectar drops spawn to prevent spray drops from spawning, have the Blowhog wither your army, and then assign a single leaf Pikmin to each nectar drop, to allow the highest amount of nectar to be used up in the shortest time. This allows for more sprays in total, as the nectars can easily reach the limit of 24 drops themselves.

So many spray drops in one place present the perfect chance to use a [[Glitches in Pikmin 2#Double sprays|glitch]] which effectively doubles the number of sprays the player can absorb. Though it may take a little extra time depending on the exact method used, it is well worth the effort to squeeze as many sprays as possible out of this rare opportunity.

Entering and exiting a [[cave]] will make the bugs respawn, meaning the player can obtain their spoils more than once per day. In combination with the previous strategies, a player can theoretically make over a hundred sprays in a single day from Ujadani alone.

This creature's English name is never stated, but the two known Japanese names come from its [[e-Reader]] card and a ''Pikmin 2'' web page. They are a combination of the Japanese word {{j|うじゃうじゃ|ujauja|in swarms|f=tp}} and the words {{j|ダニ|dani|tick|f=tp}} and {{j|むし|mushi|bug|f=tp}}, respectively. Its scientific name is not known, but its internal name, <code>ujamushi</code>, is the same as one of its Japanese names.
