Missions are objectives for the player to complete throughout Pikmin 4. These are given by either Rescue Corps members or by rescued castaways, typically within the Rescue Command Post hub area once they've been rescued.

There are two types of missions: Main Missions and Side Missions.

Main Missions

Main Missions are the main objectives the player must complete. They are usually story related with simple goals requiring the player to progress through the game normally to complete. These are often given by members of the Rescue Corps.

Shepherd	Rescue All Castaways		This mission comes with a counter that keeps track of the player's castaway count (not including members of the Rescue Corps).

Side Missions

Side Missions are objectives that aren't necessary to complete, but reward the player with things like raw material for doing so. These are often given to the player after talking to rescued crewmates and castaways in the Rescue Command Post. Other quests are only unlocked once the player has completed a previous quest first.

Dingo	Investigate Areas 1	Investigate 1 Area 100%	1	Investigate each area until your progress reaches 100 percent! Remember to explore caves and collect all the treasure too. This should be easy peasy for our star rookie.	Raw material × 30	To complete an area 100% means gathering every castaway, treasure, and onion above and below ground.
Dingo	Investigate Areas 2	Investigate 2 Area 100%	2	Keep going until your progress for each area hits 100 percent! Don't forget to explore caves and collect treasures. You should be good enough to do this in your sleep, rookie!	Raw material × 30	To complete an area 100% means gathering every castaway, treasure, and onion above and below ground.
Dalmo	All the Little Darlings 1	Find 25 Species of Creatures	25	I'm excited to learn all about the creatures of this planet. Let me know when you encounter new species.
