Talk:Glitch
I propose we remove all glitches that have their own articles, give articles to the rest that should, link to category:glitches as a list of major glitches, and move this to 'minor glitches'. GP
- Agreed. I might start on this in an hour or so; no guarantees, though.--Prezintenden
OK, just a question: which are the major ones? Snakeboss14
- Those as defined in Pikipedia:Policy#Glitch articles. GP
Mm, I talked to Prez about glitches in other articles (on enemy pages, for example). I think we should still have this page (still as 'minor glitches'), since it and category:glitches serves as a good repository, a way for people looking for glitches to find them easily. Otherwise, it'd be hard to get at them, spread out all over the wiki. However, it's also good to have them on the pages of the things they're about, so everything about them is in one place.
It seems, then, that to avoid content duplication, that the best solution is to have one set link to the other - I vote have the full text here, and refer to individual sections on this page (or articles in cat:glitches), perhaps with short summaries. It's a bit strange, yes, but I can't see a better solution. Thoughts? GP
- So I'm understanding this this way: we write everything on this page, and simply link to the section for the glitch we would actually have written into the related article. It would seem nice to just have everything on one page, period, but that would end in one gigantic page with endless sections.
- Probably. I'm actually not quite sure how many pure glitch articles we have. Actually, maybe there are some less heavily-glitchy glitches (i.e. the pikmin stuck-under-bridge glitch) that we don't really have to link to here and could just merge to the Bridge article.
- Ah, thinking about it, it seems too weird. I vote for what Green called 'former'.--Prezintenden
Hi! I lost half of my Pikmin in Pikmin 1 and I dont know why... is that a glitch? Berrychan
You/Player
Hey guys, I'm anonymous user here and a big fan of the Pikmin series. I'd love to help out and edit, and I fixed up this page to get rid of the "you/the player" problem that was reported. Just to let you know, I have a lot of time, but I can only be here on weekends, since I'm not allowed on the computer on week days (Asian parents, BTW). 02:06, 16 December 2012 (EST)
- Thanks for the help. Although there are a few problems: there are several instances of "the you" now. Would you mind giving them a quick fix? — {EspyoT} 07:49, 16 December 2012 (EST)
Can you tell me which glitches have the problem? Oh, and Jimbo, if that's true, I'll fix the problem. 17:24, 19 December 2012 (EST)
And... Finished fixing the "the you" problem! Oh, and by the way, I am the anonymous user above. I made an account under the name Los Plagas (or you could just look at my sig to find out).-Los Plagas (talk)
Embed Glitch
The Embed Glitch happened to me in Pikmin 2. (Subterranean Complex, Sublevel 7) The glitch was caused by a Volatile Dweevil. It made the Thirst Activator bounce and go through the wall. I sent in my White Pikmin to carry it, but one of them died because it was over the abyss. The treasure also fell, so when I sent in my purples, it respawned. DarkBulbear64
- ...Okay, so is there any relevance to this post besides informing us of this? You don't need to do that, by the way; unless you're absolutely sure that your edit will cause a major controversy, you don't have to post on the talk page with information detailing your personal experience with it. -Los Plagas
