Pikmin, is the very first Pikmin game in the series to debut. It also has a sequel, Pikmin 2.

Plot
Captain Olimar, exausted from working hard, goes on vacation only to get hit by an asteroid and land on the mysterious planet of the Pikmin. His ship, the S.S. Dolphin is now an absolute wreck, but on the way he meets up with the Pikmin. With the help from the Pikmin, Olimar soon has the hope to recover the rocket parts he needs and get back home. But olimar soon finds out that the planet contains oxygen, an element incredibly deadly to the planet of Hocotate and its people. Olimar has only 30 days before complete battery failure. On his way he meets the Yellow Pikmin and eventualy the Blue Pikmin along with indigenous creatures such as the Bulborbs.
Gameplay
Pikmin is a 3-D game that gives you control of olimar that is followed in turn by pikmin whom he directs. the whole point of the game is to find,capture,and collect various ship parts in under a thirty-day limit. Each day is actually 15 minutes at the end of the day all pikmin must drop what they're doing and rounded up in order for them to see another day.
in pikmin you will face many obstacles in order to secure the desired part.This must be done with care as many obstacles are hazards such as water,fire,and explosions or time consumers like walls,bridges,etc.Even the variuse creatures of the planet can halt your progress
in pikmin you can have up to 100 pikmin at any given time and nothing more
PIKMIN
pikmin are the plant/animal hybrids that willingly follow olimar and his orders each pikmin color has its weakness and its strengths and all three pikmin must be used in order to collect all of the ship parts.the pikmin to us are very short(one inch) and provide very few clues of their physical elements all pikmin have a little more than a head,eyes,a belly,two feet,and two arms all three pikmin are slender and extremly thin.the facial appearance of pikmin are a mystery as they all have huge eyes,and round black pupils.however reds are the only ones with a nose.yellow have ears.and blue have gills that look and are shaped like mouths
red pikmin are the first encountered by the player/olimar. Olimar starts off with one red pikmin but he soon finds out their effective yet unorthedox method to reproduce. red are the only ones resistant to fire. they cant swim as the blue pikmin are the only ones with gills
