Talk:Mission Mode
(I figured this was the best place to put this suggestion) Would it be a good idea to put the number of "Battle Enemies!" Points on the relevant enemy articles? If so, where exactly do we put them? Phineas81707 (talk) 05:37, 2 December 2015 (EST)
- Already there. Check the Stats section of any enemy article. It has both the Pokos and BE! points (they're the same). Unless you mean something else? — {EspyoT} 05:43, 2 December 2015 (EST)
- Checked Swooping Snitchbug, and yep, it's there. Weird: I don't recall ever seeing it whenever I checked that table. I'll need to check more thoroughly in a bit. Phineas81707 (talk) 06:30, 2 December 2015 (EST)
"Players can find Pikmin to use either at the starting point, buried, scattered across the map, hidden below plants in small groups, or inside certain enemies, like the Medusal Slurker" Are there any other enemies besides the Mesudal Slurker that can hold Pikmin? Would it be better to be more specific and not say "certain enemies" if that is the only one? 99.9.12.142
- Ideally, the article would be the most specific possible and mention exactly what enemies can contain Pikmin. That said, I think it really is only the Slurkers, yeah. Even Louie can be found inside a Slurker in one of the DLC stages. — {EspyoT} 16:18, May 27, 2019 (EDT)
Where is Olimar and Louie? In mission mode[edit]
Is it in the Deluxe game? – The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.131.175.89 • (talk) • (contribs)
- Olimar and Louie appear in 3 Mission Mode stages, Beastly Caverns, Forgotten Cove, and Clockwork Chasm. These stages are downloadable content in the Wii U version, and available by default in the Deluxe version (though they have to be unlocked first). — Soprano(talk) 15:44, November 13, 2022 (EST)
Create articles for each type[edit]
Don't you think we should create an article for each type? Because if Pikmin 5 has Mission mode, the article will get very long. The same happened with the gate article, and I don't want it to repeat. — AllPikminCollected (talk) 11:33, May 11, 2025 (EDT)
- Is that really necessary? I see your point, but there aren't that many types and each one is only a medium-sized paragraph long. Deeb1324354657 (talk) 11:52, May 11, 2025 (EDT)
- Well, I'm doing it either or not, because the Names in other languages section is very long, so we don't search too much for a thing. I know about the contents mechanic, but if someone doesn't use it. If you want my opinion, that section is like 25cm long (vertical). — AllPikminCollected (talk) 12:15, May 11, 2025 (EDT)
- I don't think it would be a good idea to have all of those on separate pages; they're not big enough to warrant that. The Niol section maybe be lengthy, but on mobile it's collapsible so it's not really not that bad, and looking at it on desktop, it's close enough to the bottom where it doesn't really cause much of an issue either, and I think someone with the proper html/CSS knowledge could shorten it even more. I don't think there needs to be much of a change, and if it gets too big in a future Pikmin 5, the better measure would probably just be to make a separate page for Pikmin 5 Mission Mode, rather than moving every type to its own page. - I second Deeb1324354657. -Gulliblepikmin 14:43, May 11, 2025 (EDT)
- If Pikmin 5 has a mission mode, then it's very likely to have an entirely different format from Pikmin 3, meaning splitting up information about Pikmin 3 doesn't achieve anything. Each mode in Pikmin 3 has much more in common than they lack, meaning separate pages requires excessive repetition. --PopitTart (talk) 05:48, May 13, 2025 (EDT)
- I agree with pretty much what everyone else has said, there's going to be too much repetitive information on each of these articles, and each of these articles will be quite short in length. The niol being that long isn't ideal, but it's better than creating entirely new articles to fix that problem. Pikmin 4 areas also have long niol sections, so by that logic, each base/landing site would deserve their own article. I think the newly created Defeat Bosses! Mission Mode should be deleted, as it's going to end up being short in length. -Chazmatron, signing off! (TALK) 12;37, 13 May, 2025 (BST)
- I don't think it's necessary for mission types to have their own articles. Many features of Mission Mode are the same in all 3 mission types, so if there were separate articles, these features would still have to be documented on the Mission Mode article. It's easier to have a single article documenting all 3 mission types. — Soprano(talk) 18:56, May 13, 2025 (EDT)
