I once heard somewhere that this type of Creature was created by Tingle from the Zelda series.
Yeah, there is some simularity......Pikdude 00:45, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Created by? You mean based on, right? I don't see why it would be, but there are resemblences. Perhaps he was inspiration.GP
Yeah, in Super Smash Bros. Melee you could jump down from Tingle's balloon and attack opponents with a down attack, and I just realized the simularity between that and the Careening Diribug....Pikdude 00:27, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Should this be considered an airborne enemy? It flies, but only because it has balloons... User:Fly Guy 2

Could someone confirm that the Careening Dirigibug can make duds (rocks will explode, but not when they hit the ground, only when you attack them or they are cought in another explosion).Prof.
- I didn't ever notice that. I'd rather say that was a glitch; I've seen them light with a delay when they have to slide down a slope, but that's all.--Prezintenden
I read the dud factor on a brawl trophy. but maybe we could call pikbusters.
On zelda wind waker you could tell tingle to come and drop bombs while hes floating with the same amount of ballons as the careening dirigibug so its probally bassed of him--Man-at-Legs888 00:01, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
Hey man at legs, when you post in a talk page, please sign your name using ~~~~. Also, what you are doing right now is fine, but it sounds like it might turn into speculation at some point. Not saying it is going to, but just in case, There is a wikia for that. IAMAHIPO_ocolor 05:24, October 4, 2009 (UTC)
Just so you know I hate speculations but the Careening Dirigibug does seem to be based off tingle--Man-at-Legs888 00:26, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
glitch?[edit]
I was messing around with one of these in 2 player battle (killig it with 1 pikmin) and some how the bomb started to go off in its arms is this a glitch? Strudel man 23:12, December 12, 2009 (UTC)
Well, that depends. Did the game seem to skip or momentarily freeze? This has never happened to me. Pikdude 17:17, December 18, 2009 (UTC)
they do throw duds. i was on the 6th floor of the subterranean complex, and it landed between the edge, a munge dweevil corpse, and a treasure, and it just sat there, and after a few seconds, it vanished.
Comment by Pikmin heroic on 30th March 2014[edit]
I got a glitch when i try to escape it when it throws a bomb rock pikmin automactily attack it and i try to whistle them but, they keep attacking and dying. (maybe its an extremely glitch): - Pikmin heroic (talk • contribs)

eggs![edit]
I kinda think bomb rocks might be this things eggs. It would explain why bomb rocks are different sizes between the games. In Pikmin, the eggs are small, and the dirigibug is nowhere o be found. (Possibly migrated, or extinct except for eggs, resulting in Olimar's theory.) In 2 the eggs hatch, and the dirigibugs find out about the Pikmin using the eggs, so they begin carrying them for protection. Eggs mature into a larger size unable to be carried. In 3 all dirigbugs either died or migrated, and the remaining eggs eggs have matured to be larger then in Pikmin, but not matured enough to be large enough to be uncarriable. And finally, Yellows teach the other Pikmin how to use bomb rocks..... (Although this step could've happened after Pikmin, but not shown due to the eggs maturatiy.Pikmin Theories (talk) 11:33, 11 May 2017 (EDT)
