Use artwork[edit]

Can someone find someplace to put this image in the article?

Artwork of a Yellow Wollywog from Pikmin 2.Pikdude 17:29, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

It's a very nice image, but it's already being used in the Gallery of Enemies.

Oh, that means it can't be used here? The Emperor Bulblax article had a picture that was being used in the Gallery of enemies. Then again, I'll check. (Cheesey elevator music)..... Yeah, it does.Pikdude Pikdude 19:08, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

It can be used, there's no restriction, but the article already has a similar image, and the page isn't long enough to have two. It would be a bit cluttered.GP

Oh. Couldn't you just try and make it small enough to fit in the article?Pikdude Pikdude 00:29, 6 January 2008 (UTC)Artwork of a Giant Breadbug.

Well, something to be added is that pikmin that are scattered can sometimes be deflowered.

Mmhmm.--Prezintenden
That happens with pretty much anything. Better to put it at Piklopedia or [[Pikmin (species), if it's not at one of them already.GP

i think that these little wollywogs r so CUTE[edit]

yellow wollywogs are the cutest little amphituber in the whole family of amphitubers with there little legs and there eyes and there cute little body and tan i just to adorable to handle SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTEEEEEEE

R u the guy who keeps going round saying 'the decorated cannon beetle is the cutest beetle ever' or 'mamutas' roars are kinda cute' and even 'if u turn ur head and squint your eyes the puffstool is kinda cute'? If so, can you stop being weird... 10:48, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Anywho, my friend said wollywogs have a diffrent "squashing" radius than yellow ones. Is this true?--

No, they're just faster. Twinmold.pngSnakeboss14Twinmold.png

What is wrong with the first comment?!?!?! These things are EEEEEEVILLLLLLL! --Itsa me! Louie G. 21:14, 6 June 2012 (EDT)

Crushing Glitch[edit]

I've just noticed Yellow Wollywogs can crush your Pikmin while in the ground...with the Crushing Glitch. That sucks! Twinmold.pngSnakeboss14Twinmold.png And what's the difference? Are they faster than the regular Wollywogs or what?

I've never tried the crushing glitch, but I think Yellow Wollywogs are faster and have a smaller crushing radius. Also, the Wollywog (regular one) is worth 7 pokos while the Yellow one is worth 5 pokos.--FREAK ~GameGame Freak Logo.png Freak~OUT! 15:21, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
So they just seem to be faster. As for the glitch, ocassionally once it's in the floor and you start swarming it, it crushes some Pikmin. Twinmold.pngSnakeboss14Twinmold.png

Yellow Wollyhop redirection[edit]

Since Wollyhop redirects to Wollywog shouldn't we make Yellow Wollyhop redirect to here, and maybe Pearly Clampshell should redirect to Pearly Clamclamp. Loafy the Breadbug

Yes, we should. ...Done. But... why should we redirect "Pearly Clampshell"? Never heard that version of the creature's name before. {EspyoT} 19:38, 21 March 2011 (EDT)
Yeah, I googled "Pearly Clampshell" (in quotes) and got a no results page. Vol (Talk)

According to the trivia in the Clamclamp article it says in NPC! Pikmin's enemy reel and voyage log its called Pearly Clampshell. Loafy the Breadbug

So it does. Let's verify if it's true before creating a redirection. {EspyoT} 17:16, 22 March 2011 (EDT)
Ah. The article says they are renamed to just "Clampshells", not "Pearly Clampshells", so the redirect should be from Clampshell. Google seems to agree with this based on these results. Vol (Talk)

Wogpole Eggs[edit]

I don't remember Olimar ever mentioning the reason for Wollywogs attacking is to defend Wogpole eggs. Can someone verify this? Loafy the Breadbug

See notes on Wogpole. It doesn't specifically say Yellow Wollywog, though - maybe move this stuff to Wollywog? GP
...Trees don't grow in caves. It can only mean Yellow ones.--Prezintenden
Hmm... It's weird that I've never thought of Wollywogs as being cave-dwellers - probably because they're in FN and I think of all areas that aren't true Pikmin 2 caves as being above ground. GP

Wogpoles are only Yellow Wollywog babies. They have the same scientific name. --Itsa me! Louie G. 17:34, 4 June 2012 (EDT)

Images[edit]

The first two images are the same (just slightly different contrast)! Should we change this? --Itsa me! Louie G. 17:34, 4 June 2012 (EDT)

I would have to agree. One of the images is just a retouch of the other. Vol (Talk)
Well, I think it's a bit noteworthy pointing out that the official artwork between each game changed, for some reason that's unknown to us. — {EspyoT} 09:11, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
Meh, removed the second because low-quality and didn't see Espyo's edit... Not sure how much the change is important enough to warrant having two similar images right next to each other. GP 14:58, 5 June 2012 (EDT)

I hate wollywogs. Oh and great job with this page - FlyingMud (talkcontribs)

Chuggaconroy hates them too! - Yoshifun (talkcontribs)
Don't we all hate them? - TheYellowSteve (talkcontribs)

Comment by Mampharos on 8th July 2014[edit]

I think this should be renamed to 'Yellow Wollyhop', as that is what they are called in all the most recent entries in the series (NPC games, Nintendo Land, Pikmin 3), and its clear that is now their canon name. - Mampharos (talkcontribs)

That is only in PAL Regions, they are still named Yellow Wollywogs in the North American version. - CraftedPbody (talkcontribs)
In the original Pikmin 1 (not NPC) they were still Wollywogs I think. And in every other region they are known as wollyowgs. - AeroBlaze777 (talkcontribs)
The most recent games in NA also use wollyhop now. - 74.96.251.27 20:23, July 14, 2023 (EDT)
