The way I learned was by looking at other people's signatures and experimenting. Most people's sigs are created on subpages of their userpage, usually User:User/sig. Mine is User:Jimbo Jambo/sig. By looking at a bunch of different ones and trying things out, you can learn what the codes do and adapt it to what you want. —Jimbo Jambo 13:30, 20 October 2010 (EDT)

It does go to your talk, the link just doesn't work here because this page is the page it links to. Hope that made sense. Also, I set up your signature. Just put {{SUBST:User:Mushroom Pikmin/Sig2}} on the sig box on the preferences page, and make sure that you check the "Custom Signature" box. Vol (Talk)

Try it again. Make sure you don't copy it from the edit screen. Include the {{ and the }}. Vol (Talk)

Because your sig is so long in the edit window, could you substitute it using a template, please? You can do this by placing {{SUBST:User:Mushroom Pikmin/Sig2}} in the box in preferences (instead of {{SUBST:User:Mushroom Pikmin/Sig}}), with the 'treat signature as wikitext box' ticked. GP

To post a signature without a timestamp, use ~~~ instead of ~~~~. Vol (Talk)
