Olimar's Madcap Ride (きょだいな せに のって?, lit.: "Riding on a giant back") is the fourth main area in the Lushlife Murk. Most of the traveling in this area is done on the back of Adult Centipares as they fly from one point to another, swaying up and down along the way. The player must be careful with what obstacles and enemies are in the way, since they'll either need to be cleared or avoided until they are no longer in the way. However, since the Centipare's back only goes so far, there may not be enough space to avoid certain obstacles in. In addition, this area introduces Swooping Snitchbugs, and in the second half, several of them swoop down to try to steal Pikmin.

Cutscenes[edit]

Cutscene Screenshot Trigger Description
Swooping Snitchbug attack The Swooping Snitchbug cutscene in Olimar's Madcap Ride. The player whistles the Pikmin hiding behind a bush near the start. Four Pikmin pop their heads out from behind a bush. They look around for a second, and three of them notice something approaching and hide back down. The last one faces to where the others were looking, but doesn't notice anything until the last second, where a Swooping Snitchbug comes flying down and nearly grabs the Pikmin. Some time after the creature flies away, the Pikmin slowly peek their heads out, and after realizing the coast is clear, the three from before jump out from behind the bush and start running towards Olimar. The fourth one eventually realizes what's happening, jumps out, and follows behind.
