The Tile Lands is a 2-Player stage and style of floor and walls. This style is a simple tile filled floor, which have sand filled in between each tile. The walls are also made in the same manner. Their colour is a mixture of turquoise and aquamarine (yet occasionally they are a brownish-tan colour), fitting to the presence of water, which is usually found in small descents of ground; these resemble platforms where water from a shower would be gathered and lead to a drain. However, there is not a single drain in any of the tile land style levels. The tiles may be interrupted by sand or a metallic floor. The style takes place in story mode caves, in Challenge Mode and in a two-player stage.

Story Mode

The style is found in numerous caves, most notably the Shower Room. It can also be found in the Dream Den, Hole of Heroes and the Cavern of Chaos. Also, there are some cubes and objects made out of these tiles. The hollow cube the Shower Room's entrance is placed into may be a larger version of a water collector, which has the Shower Room as a drain. There are usually aquatic creatures, such as the Yellow Wollywogs, Water Dumples and Watery Blowhogs, but some creatures that aren't aquatic still live here, such as a Fiery Blowhog. This stage has pools of water here and there, making it home to many Wogpoles.

Challenge Mode

It is seen in the following stages: The Giant's Bath, Cavernous Abyss, Bully Den, Collector's Room and Subterranean Lair. Apart from having the same enemies as the story mode caves, it also includes rarer enemies such as a Toady Bloyster. I It contains the previously mentioned creatures, as well as Snow Bulborbs and Sheargrubs of both varieties.

Tile Lands is a Pikmin 2 arena for 2-player battle.

Enemies In The Area & Tips

These are the majority of the enemies which appear in this arena. Be careful not to get cornered by a Wollywog or a roulette Volatile Dweevil on the wrong edge of one of the large square shaped indents that can be found in the floor. Skitter Leafs are great for multiplying your Pikmin squad.

In some layouts there is a metal corridor leading directly to your opponent's onion. These are usually abundant in both Yellow Marbles and cherries. If going for the Yellow Marbles, start with the ones closer to your opponent's onion and work back. The corridor works well for surprise attacks, but your Pikmin will always take the opponent's marble back the long way, making them susceptible to attacks from both enemies and opponents.

A wider but shorter corridor can also be found in a certain layout. This also leads directly to the opponents onion and contains yellow marbles. Cherries will occasionally fall from the sky here. This corridor also works well to surprise attack your opponent's onion. Be warned, though, the area is also abundant in Snow Bulborbs. The creatures can be defeated before a surprise assault, or they may optionally used for cover if an Ultra-Spicy Spray is used on your Pikmin force prior to the raid.

Several layouts, if not all, include a small room to the side of the square shaped indent filled with Water Dumples and with a single Yellow Marble in the center. Your Pikmin squad can easily be depleted if they are not managed carefully in here. Water Dumples can be lured out of the room and possibly into the indent and defeated individually, or roulette hazards can be used to your advantage to defeat several at once.

Trivia

  • Although many sublevels that have a similar style to this arena have large pools of water in the indents, in this 2-player arena they are dry, most likely so the blue team doesn't have an unfair advantage.
