Freezing Wasteland (いてついた こうや?) is the first main area in the Snowfall Field. It introduces a few of the ice mechanics present in the sector, such as icy slopes that Olimar cannot control his descent on, and crystal-like icicles that can be broken with Rock Pikmin. The enemies in this area, particularly the Clicking Slurkers, server as nuisances while the player is attempting to complete other tasks, making battling them and multitasking an important skill in this area.

Description[edit]
As the name implies, this area is made of snow and ice. The player can find a lot of crystals, as well as some icy slopes too. This area is also the only one that features Clicking Slurkers, which act as the main threat of the area. In some places in the area, the player has to multitask between attacking these creatures and doing other tasks, such as building a bridge or destroying a wall. In this area, two treasures can be found: the Sunset Projector, located near some hydroe brambles , and the Frozen Stranger, which is accessible by Olimar only through the use of the jetpack.

Snow landing
The player slides down the first slope and advances forward a bit.
Four Rock Pikmin jump out from behind a pile of leafs. One of them fails the landing, and ends up falling face-first on the floor. As the others look to see if everything is all right, the Pikmin gets up with snow on its face, which quickly falls off.
Snowball
The player enters the first doorway.
There is a large snowball covering the exit of the doorway. Two Rock Pikmin peek from behind the snowball, one on each side, and then go back in. Some thuds are heard, and after the third, the snowball shatters, and reveals the four Rock Pikmin that took it down. However, one of them is completely encased in snow, as the other three notice. It eventually shakes the snow off, though.
Stalactite
After the Crystalline Crushblat, the player advances forward a bit.
Four Rock Pikmin are hanging on to a stalactite. They start slipping down, try to climb back up, but end up slipping too far down and fall to a branch below. They then stare at each other for some seconds.
