Chatroom and Forum

Hi Porplemontage. Anyways, are a forum and a chatroom going to be implemented when things are all sorted out? --Gamefreak75

Yeah, they can be. Is there a preferred chat channel to connect to or do we need to create one? --Porplemontage 22:14, 14 September 2010 (EDT)
Like how MarioWiki connects directly to #mwikitalk? I say just create one on DarkMyst titled something like #pikchat or another related name. --Gamefreak75
In that case, the wiki admins can create the channel and then give me the info to connect to it. --Porplemontage 22:25, 14 September 2010 (EDT)
Doesn't Pikipedia:Chat work? We were using the creator's libraries which could have moved, so it may not: instead of update right now, could you install the AddHTML extension to avoid extra JavaScript? Then upload the needed files from the latest version.
Alternatively, if the server has Perl support, this is a lot faster than any Java client. If you do this, it looks like you'll need room details - #pikipedia@irc.darkmyst.org - and will probably have to set it up off the wiki. Greenpickle
Oh, missed the forum mention. There'll be the old DPL forum once it's moved, but we were considering a separate cross-wiki forum at forum.pikminwiki.com, IIRC. phpBB is good.
Finally, could you change the wiki's name to Pikipedia? Whatever will affect SITENAME and page titles. I'd assume LocalSettings.php. Greenpickle
Oh, and could we have MultiUpload, please? I've found it useful in the past and realised we don't have it when I saw the link on special:upload. Greenpickle
Hey, why are project (at least) links case-sensitive for the first letter now? Is that something you can turn off, or is it enable and un-disable-able in newer MW versions? Greenpickle

We could do PJIRC or use web chat like this. MultiUpload is not compatible. Project titles are Pikipedia:X. I don't understand how Pikmin:X makes any sense since it implies that those articles are about Pikmin when they are actually about the wiki. --Porplemontage 16:02, 15 September 2010 (EDT)

Yeah, go on, Mibbit's good, I just didn't consider it since it's external. Make a note here once it's up and I'll delete the old one, remove the javascript and move the help page. Project pages: ah, I see; I just assumed 'Pikmin' remained the project namespace as it was at Wikia: so those pages are in the main namespace now, which explains the case sensitivity. I'll have to move them all and leave redirects behind. Greenpickle
The automated welcome is bad because it doesn't substitute the welcome template, it's impersonal (...more accurately as a contrast, has no potential to be personal), and it doesn't discriminate (could welcome a vandal; obviously not the biggest problem, but...). Could you disable it? I couldn't find anything in its documentation to indicate how you would do that beyond uninstalling it. Greenpickle
Hmm, Porplemontage, is it possible to implement a forum like the Mario Wiki one? That way, things will be much more organized. --Gamefreak75
I think everyone agrees a legitimate forum should be added at some point. --Porplemontage 17:02, 16 September 2010 (EDT)
Could you add Forum and Forum talk namespaces, please? That should fix the existing DPL forums.Greenpickle

The web chat is up, there are some messages to edit the text around it. Namespace added, welcome removed. --Porplemontage 17:02, 16 September 2010 (EDT)

Thanks. What do you mean, 'messages'? As in, mediawiki pages, or strings in the code you would have to edit? I think everything I see is fine as it is, anyway. Oh, a link to Pikipedia:Chat would be useful, though. GP
Referring to the MediaWiki pages, aka system messages. MediaWiki:Webchat-header is the header (which is actually the only one). --Porplemontage 19:26, 17 September 2010 (EDT)
Hey, could you install mw:Extension:DismissableSiteNotice, please? GP
Either you already added it, or I'm going crazy. I'm sure it wasn't at special:version when I asked... GP
I added it. --Porplemontage 19:26, 17 September 2010 (EDT)

Can I have the info for SMF? --Sir Pikmin

I was just going to give out FTP info for a subdomain and info for a database and let you guys install whatever forum system you want. Should the subdomain be forum.pikminwiki.com, forums.pikminwiki.com, or something else? --Porplemontage 15:40, 18 September 2010 (EDT)
I like forums.pikminwiki.com, but let's wait for Green to chime in before we decide.

SirPikmin,SIRPIKMIN.JPGYour Bold Pikmin Knight!Contributions

I'd be fine with either of those. GP
Ok then, forums.pikminwiki.com it is!

SirPikmin,SIRPIKMIN.JPGYour Bold Pikmin Knight!Contributions

Someone give me an email address and I'll send out the info. --Porplemontage 17:21, 18 September 2010 (EDT)

Special:EmailUser/Sir Pikmin. It can also be found by clicking on the pikmin sprite in my sig.

SirPikmin,SIRPIKMIN.JPGYour Bold Pikmin Knight!Contributions

Ok. --Porplemontage 18:52, 18 September 2010 (EDT)

I'm going to delete these PHP files and I'll get it going for you. --Porplemontage 19:50, 18 September 2010 (EDT)

It's installed [1] --Porplemontage 20:14, 18 September 2010 (EDT)

Anonymous edits

For the reasons I outlined at the old fanon wiki forum, I think anonymous users should be able to edit. GP

Ok --Porplemontage 16:12, 20 September 2010 (EDT)

Just to clarify, the boards at forums.pikminwiki.com are for use by both wikis as the inter-wiki forum right? I want to make sure before I do anything to big on them.
SirPikmin,SIRPIKMIN.JPGYour Bold Pikmin Knight!Contributions

Yeah. So you could create separate sections or handle that however you want. --Porplemontage 23:03, 21 September 2010 (EDT)
Ok thanks!

Video

Could you install the EmbedVideo extension, please? It would be useful to have alignment/resizing functionality that the YouTube extension doesn't seem to provide. GP

Ok --Porplemontage 11:13, 27 September 2010 (EDT)
Hey, what happened to this? GP
I've updated the YouTube extension to Wikia's version which allows resizing and sources other than YouTube. You should be able to accomplish everything with this now. --Porplemontage 17:54, 1 November 2010 (EDT)
Okay, just would've expected some warning you'd changed it. GP
Sorry about that. --Porplemontage 19:00, 1 November 2010 (EDT)

Could you just replace it with EmbedVideo again? I'm not sure why you changed it - EmbedVideo supports more sources and resizing. Further, it's a parser function, so templates with variable inputs work, unlike with the YouTube extension. GP

Sure. --Porplemontage 13:10, 7 November 2010 (EST)

Deleting an account made by mistake

See here. Accidentally created an account with the wrong name. Is it possible to have it removed? Please and thanks. —Jimbo Jambo 16:23, 29 September 2010 (EDT)

Accounts aren't actually deleted, so we can just leave it. --Porplemontage 18:07, 29 September 2010 (EDT)
That's fine then. It's not as if anyone is going to want that username anyway. Thanks. —Jimbo Jambo 19:12, 29 September 2010 (EDT)

SVG image format

I don't know if you've been following, but some vectorial images have been created for the hazard icons. Read this if you're interested. The problem is that some of them don't show up correctly. Greenpickle hinted that it has to do with the renderer chosen, and suggested that I talked to you about it. If it's not a wholesome of trouble, could you change the renderer to Inkscape? That way, the images would show up correctly. {EspyoT} 16:39, 13 October 2010 (EDT)

I'm looking into this; thanks. --Porplemontage 17:38, 15 October 2010 (EDT)
How's it going along, Porple? I don't want to alarm you, but while this isn't resolved, some templates are using the vectorial images, some aren't, and other are using the "corrupted" vectorial images. {EspyoT} 20:24, 30 October 2010 (EDT)
Going to have to use PNGs for now. I want to upgrade our rasterizer but we have the latest version for our OS. --Porplemontage 17:56, 1 November 2010 (EDT)
What version, of what rasteriser? librsvg 2.26.3 works fine here. GP
We're using librsvg 2.16.1 on CentOS and I don't know why the images are coming out glitchy. I'm open to suggestions. --Porplemontage 19:00, 1 November 2010 (EDT)
Well, I guess you could try compiling a later version, see if the dependencies aren't going to be too much of a nightmare. I can't really offer anything else. GP
There are incompatible dependencies; doesn't look good. --Porplemontage 19:30, 1 November 2010 (EDT)

It's possible to point the favicon and logo to normal files uploaded on the wiki, right? Could you do that with File:Favicon.png and File:Logo.png, then? GP

I can just swap out the favicon. Logo is updated. --Porplemontage 20:08, 20 October 2010 (EDT)
Hmm, if Wikia can do it with the favicon, why can't we? Don't worry, though, it's only a small convenience. GP
Alright, well, it's being done with File:Favicon.ico now. --Porplemontage 18:46, 21 October 2010 (EDT)
Can you please do that for Pikmin Fanon with a File:Logo.png and File:Wiki.png as well? Vol (Talk)
The favicon has to be an ico file. --Porplemontage 20:27, 21 October 2010 (EDT)
Isn't it already an ico file? If not, what is it now? Vol (Talk)
Do you want Logo.png or Wiki.png to be the logo? --Porplemontage 00:28, 22 October 2010 (EDT)
Logo.png, please. Vol (Talk)

Hey I made it Wiki.png already. --Porplemontage 18:52, 22 October 2010 (EDT)

It doesn't have to be ICO; PNG works fine, just not for IE <= 6. GP
All versions of IE don't work with anything except ICO. --Porplemontage 16:07, 22 October 2010 (EDT)
...Huh, not sure where I read it was only <= 6. That's...not unexpected, I guess. Apparently IE7 (all I have access to) doesn't even show it anywhere apart from the bookmarks list. GP

Oh m god

Pikmin Fanon

This might just be my computer, but... Pikmin Fanon isn't working. Vol (Talk)

Looks ok here... The theme is orange, and last time I checked, it wasn't. That's about it. If it didn't work at all with you, you could've used this site. {EspyoT} 20:28, 30 October 2010 (EDT)
Wait, a bit off-topic here, but I only just noticed it in checking just now: is it Pikcanon-NOT again? There are two mentions of it on the main page, and it's in the title. GP
Yes, its official name is Pikcanon-NOT. Vol (Talk)
So when someone said it was now Pikmin Fanon, they were lying? Or has it changed back? Should I change it at template:NIWA, the main page, the sidebar? GP
It is officially called Pikcanon-NOT, although it is also known as Pikmin Fanon. It's kind of like people who go by their middle name. I don't think it really matters, though. Vol (Talk)

User page protection

I remember user pages being protected against edits by other users, but this no longer seems to be the case. What happened? GP

I did some cleaning and removed this since it's not the default and some people didn't like it. I've added it back here... --Porplemontage 15:28, 9 November 2010 (EST)
'Kay, thanks. I can't see why anyone wouldn't like it, though. GP

Poem extension

Could you install it here? mw:Extension:Poem. GP

Sure thing. --Porplemontage 11:17, 15 December 2010 (EST)

ForcePreview extension

(Discussion (...not much, no) at Forum:Spammers.) Looks like it would be good. As discussed, please only have it enabled for anonymous users. Thanks in advance. GP

Ok. An alternative to this is to a require a math problem to be solved by all guests (which is currently only required by guests adding new links). --Porplemontage 19:45, 17 January 2011 (EST)
I'm pretty sure we've decided to do the math problem thing now (see Forum:Spammers). Vol (Talk)
Ok. --Porplemontage 22:02, 19 January 2011 (EST)

Creating an account fails

Apparently the captcha's broken or something; the error message ('Incorrect or missing confirmation code.') definitely comes from the ConfirmEdit extension. This is only displayed when it thinks you've failed the captcha, which I'm definitely not doing. GP

Thank you. --Porplemontage 16:28, 16 February 2011 (EST)

reuploads

I've been told they don't work (for non-admins?); could you enable them? It should be the stuff here. GP

Refer to Special:ListGroupRights. Normal users can reupload their own images but they need to be autoconfirmed to reupload other images. Autoconfirmed is 10 edits and 4 days, so RAP is basically 2 edits from gaining the right. --Porplemontage 03:52, 2 March 2011 (EST)
Ah, okay, sounds good. GP

Anti-Spam Measure

As discussed here, will you make it so only auto-confirmed users can create new articles and upload images? Vol (Talk)

First I want to try the questions captcha. Any ideas for more questions? --Porplemontage 23:48, 10 March 2011 (EST)
I have some ideas (you might already have similar ones). I put examples below.
  • What is the second to last letter of the alphabet?
  • Which letter comes after "N"?
  • what is the third letter in "automobile"?
  • Type in the following word backwards: <word goes here>.
  • If you replace the "w" in "walk" with a "t", what word will it become?
  • The Earth orbits around the ______.
  • The Sun is not out during the night, it is out during the ______.
  • Roses, daisies, and tulips are all _______.
  • If you have ten coins and you spend five of them, you will end up with ______ coins.
  • If you drop wood on water, it ________.
So, those are a few ideas I came up with. Hope they help.
Vol (Talk)
I'm pretty sure some woods sink. (Besides, if you're dropping it and it does float, assuming the water's still, you're going to get (near enough) damped simple harmonic motion...) Also, I have no ideas, and the rest of Vol's suggestions sound fine. Of course, some others have silly technical ambiguities, but nothing anyone with common sense is going to care about (...). GP
Yeah, the main point is to make it obvious enough that people can answer it and hard enough that bots can't. Vol (Talk)

Category paging

Seems to be broken. Try category:treasures, category:screenshots: click on 'next' and it shows the same page again. You can see the GET parameter in the URL, but MediaWiki's not respecting it. However, if you change 'pagefrom' or 'filefrom' to 'from', it works - so I'm guessing something didn't get updated in an upgrade or something. GP 06:10, 23 August 2011 (EDT)

Thanks for letting me know; the CategoryTree extension needed a little update. --Porplemontage 06:36, 23 August 2011 (EDT)
Thanks. GP 07:58, 23 August 2011 (EDT)

Notes namespace

Could you add a 'notes' namespace (and talk) please? GP 08:52, 16 March 2012 (EDT)

Sure thing. --Porplemontage 09:19, 16 March 2012 (EDT)
Thanks. GP 10:35, 16 March 2012 (EDT)

Patroller extension

Hey, we seem to have lost the Patroller extension (provides special:patrol) - I assume it's due to an upgrade, so is it not working with the latest MW? If it is, it'd be nice to have it back. GP 08:32, 19 May 2012 (EDT)

Yeah it wasn't working, but it's back now. --Porplemontage 13:10, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
Thank you. GP 15:34, 19 May 2012 (EDT)

ReplaceText extension

Please take a look at the discussion here and consider installing the extension mentioned. Thanks. GP 16:09, 30 July 2012 (EDT)

Sorry, but I find that extension to be too database-intensive. --Porplemontage (talk) 17:34, 30 July 2012 (EDT)

Can you hear me out?

Hello, this is Wraith (Peanut64), one of the Bureaucrats on Pikmin Fanon. Can you install a Capatcha extension for all anon ips? This will stop spam surely, so I can unlock the database. We have been hit by spam hard despite the simple edit filter, so I'd like to "up the ante" as they say. If you'd rather solve it some other way, or just have me ignore the problem, hit me up. ~Wraith~

The filter was disabled for a bit, but I re-enabled it when I was testing editing. You should unlock the DB and we'll only have to up the ante if the problem continues. --Porplemontage (talk) 11:04, 26 August 2012 (EDT)

Log-in issues

Hey, over at Pikmin Fanon, I tried to log in but I got the error message "Fatal error: Call to undefined method WebRequest::getIP() in /home/pikminfa/public_html/extensions/ConfirmEdit/Captcha.php on line 202". Can you fix this? ~PikFan23

Yes, thanks. --Porplemontage (talk) 16:43, 30 November 2012 (EST)

EmbedVideo

A wiki update seems to have broken the EmbedVideo extension (eg. see Map 06). It doesn't seem to support our MediaWiki version yet, so please disable it for now. GP 12:00, 7 September 2013 (EDT)

Thanks for telling me; I fixed it. --Porplemontage (talk) 14:02, 7 September 2013 (EDT)

Bans

Are you currently testing these account bans? I see you online right now, so... I didn't mean to sound rude when I wrote "Eesh, fine", but you could've told me it was you, if it was. — {EspyoT} 19:03, 22 May 2014 (EDT)

Nope, I had nothing to do with that. --Porplemontage (talk) 11:18, 23 May 2014 (EDT)

Merge

Hey, Porple. There are some news, the folk from Pikmin Wiki, the one hosted at wikia, are moving in. The community is finally being united in a single place. Big changes will be happening here. Because the users at Pikmin Wiki don't want to lose their edit history, we figured the best way to keep the history but still allow the content to remain like normal was to import the wikia mainspace pages into an "Archive" namespace (edit history included), where we'd manually merge the best bits of the wikia page with the page we have already. Of course, this doesn't apply for pages we don't have, like loads of Pikmin 3 pages. We want you to create that "Archive" namespace, please. If you have any better idea, that'd be great. If you need to talk this over a bit better, come on the IRC; GP is there from 19:00 or so until 23:00 or so, but I'm there from 11:00 to 1:00 most of the time (these times are GMT). Thanks! — {EspyoT} 15:13, 21 July 2014 (EDT)

What about just importing the articles over our existing articles, then reverting them back to the newest Pikipedia revision? Merges can be done by comparing our latest revision to the newest Pikmin Wiki revision. If imports are done for pages that we shared pre-Wikia fork, then we'll be importing revisions that we already imported in 2010. Using a new namespace we'll have exact same revisions in two places, but if we import right over the articles then duplicate revisions will be skipped from import. Once the pages are merged it would be nice to have both sources of the merge in the page history so the contributions of members of both wikis are together in one place instead of having one off in another namespace where people probably won't know to look. --Porplemontage (talk) 16:45, 21 July 2014 (EDT)
True. I was worried you might end up with a weird history - if the edits are chronological, the revisions either side of each diff won't necessarily match up. GP 17:20, 21 July 2014 (EDT)
Yeah that's true - the revisions would go back and forth between source wikis. I'm ok with that given the pros but it's really up to you guys. --Porplemontage (talk) 17:56, 21 July 2014 (EDT)

Tiny captcha improvement

Hey Porple. I just have a quick suggestion, user L3re7z had a bit of trouble realizing what to do on the captcha, waiting for an image to appear. Looking back to it, I can tell that this is because the link (the word "this") is a bit washed out. Is it possible to bold the link "this", so people can tell it's clickable? — {EspyoT} 09:04, 19 September 2014 (EDT)

Ok. --Porplemontage (talk) 20:13, 19 September 2014 (EDT)

Extension update

Hey, could you please update EmbedVideo? A user wants to add a caption without the positioning parameter, but the extension keeps complaining and breaking. According to the documentation, it should work the way he's doing, so I'm guessing the problem is that we just have a very outdated version. Oh, and if it's not going too much out of your way, could you update the other extensions too? I haven't seen any problem with any other, but if it's easy to update, it's probably better to do so, just to make sure we aren't subject to any vulnerabilities or glitches. Thanks! — {EspyoT} 12:21, 28 September 2014 (EDT)

I update all the extensions every time I update MediaWiki to a new branch, and the last time I did that was for 1.23 in July. EmbedVideo has been unmaintained for two years (no updates), but someone new just started updating it this month. We have that new version now. --Porplemontage (talk) 13:09, 28 September 2014 (EDT)
Ah, I see. Many thanks! And hope you don't get bothered by all the requests – because of the Pikmin Wiki merge, chances are we might need to request a few more things every once in a while. — {EspyoT} 13:15, 28 September 2014 (EDT)
It's no problem. --Porplemontage (talk) 13:20, 28 September 2014 (EDT)

Main Page and mobile

Hi Porple. Recently I updated the main page to a much more updated theme, but broke the mobile version in the process... Just to let you know, so you can fix it again. Sorry for the trouble...! — {EspyoT} 16:12, 17 October 2014 (EDT)

Ok --Porplemontage (talk) 16:24, 17 October 2014 (EDT)

Some requests

Hey Porple. We have a bit of a problem. The MediaWiki:Anonnotice isn't updating right. Only half of the pages are actually showing the merge bit, while the other half is still showing the Pikmin 3 message. We tried an action=purge, and a cache clear, but it didn't work. Other than that, I need to ask you two things: a) please change the favicon to the flower, the one used on Pikmin Wiki, and b) please install the same poll plugin you installed on Pikmin Fanon. Thanks! — {EspyoT} 16:06, 18 November 2014 (EST)

For guests, pages are cached and updated when they are edited, which is why I recommend a "neutral" anon notice or just not changing it too much. No big deal - I purged the cache so the new notice will appear everywhere now. Did the other stuff as well. --Porplemontage (talk) 16:16, 18 November 2014 (EST)
I thought action=purge would do that for a page, but it didn't seem to work. GP 16:22, 18 November 2014 (EST)
That stopped working on the file cache after some MediaWiki update. I don't know if it's a bug or what. --Porplemontage (talk) 16:31, 18 November 2014 (EST)

Hi. I've got a few more requests. Turns out the poll system on Pikmin Fanon kind of sucks. We discussed a bit on which poll extension might be better, but we couldn't really reach a consensus. So I'm guessing we should just try one, and if it doesn't work, move on to a different one. So... apologies in advance if we end up requesting too many poll extensions! Anyway, could you please...

  1. Get rid of the current poll extension and install this one instead?
  2. Install [[User:Espyo/KopPad.css|this theme]] as a secondary theme for the wiki? You know, one of the ones that users can pick on their settings. It's based on the KopPad, so give it that name.
  3. Clear the cache for the favicon? I'm guessing it must be a cache issue, but I'm not sure if it's client-side or server-side; basically, the favicon is still showing the leaf icon for old users.
  4. Get us some visitor stats from July, September, and now, please? Just the number of unique and repeated visitors that went on the wiki is enough.

Thanks, and sorry for the massive amount of requests lately! It's all for the wiki's good. — {EspyoT} 09:22, 20 December 2014 (EST)

Built-in poll extensions aren't going to work with our caching, which is why we use that PollDaddy embed one. It seems to work fine on the MarioWiki so I don't know why it sucks. I did the theme... it's client-side cache on favicon - there is nothing to clear on our end. July is 15,829 sessions, 9,598 new visitors, 6,231 returning visitors. September is 14,468 total, 9,582 new, 4,886 returning. Last 30 days is 15,616, 9,362, 6,254. --Porplemontage (talk) 16:02, 20 December 2014 (EST)
Excellent, thank you! We weren't big fans of the PollDaddy poll system because that way we had to have another site in the middle of it. Oh well. I figured the leaf icon would be a client-side issue. Thanks again. — {EspyoT} 16:49, 20 December 2014 (EST)

Weird tooltip

Hey. I recently noticed that if the wiki's language is set to English, and you hover your mouse on the link titled "Help" on the sidebar, you get the string "The place to find out." That description makes no sense whatsoever. Do you have any idea what's up with that? The same thing happens to the likes of Nookipedia, as well as a huge amount of MediaWiki wikis all across the web. Is this a mistake that got fixed in future versions of MediaWiki? Is this a placeholder string that's meant to be filled with whatever each wiki finds appropriate? If this is something you're meant to fix (or at least change), you may want to check other wikis you own, too. — {EspyoT} 12:50, 9 March 2015 (EDT)

It seems fine to me. You can change MediaWiki:Tooltip-n-help if you really want to! --Porplemontage (talk) 12:53, 9 March 2015 (EDT)

Special:Patrol

Hey, quick thing, the [[Special:Patrol]] page is returning an error: Fatal error: Call to undefined method ChangesList::newFromUser() in /home/pikminwi/public_html/extensions/Patroller/Patroller.class.php on line 112. This happens whether there are any unpatrolled edits or not. — {EspyoT} 05:16, 24 April 2015 (EDT)

It looks like the extension is incompatible with newer versions of MediaWiki and we're advised against using it. I will have to uninstall it for now until/if it gets supported again. --Porplemontage (talk) 13:19, 24 April 2015 (EDT)
Wait, did uninstalling it removed just the page, or all patrolling-related functionalities? Because I still see unpatrolled edits and the buttons to patrol them, but the page is indeed gone. We still use patrolling, just not that page in particular. — {EspyoT} 15:05, 24 April 2015 (EDT)
The extension was just that page. --Porplemontage (talk) 15:06, 24 April 2015 (EDT)
All right. Good to know. Thanks for the help! — {EspyoT} 15:09, 24 April 2015 (EDT)

User script categorization

Hey. This script I made for the wiki is being categorized with insane stuff like Category:", ". I thought user scripts were meant to be processed by the wiki as raw text, not as an article. Do you know anything about this? You might only be able to see the templates that are being called and the categories by entering the edit page. — {EspyoT} 16:10, 4 June 2015 (EDT)

I don't know the exact deal with processing scripts and categories, but I added <nowiki> tags which seems to have fixed the issue. --Porplemontage (talk) 18:29, 4 June 2015 (EDT)
Well, it's awkward, but it works. And has no real downsides. Thanks. — {EspyoT} 18:35, 4 June 2015 (EDT)

Hey there. I talked to Prod some days ago, and he said that with Google Analytics, it's possible to get a list of, amongst other things, pages that readers try to access but don't exist. It would be really useful to have that kind of info so we can improve user experience. Prod also said webmasters can give other users access to these stats. Would you mind giving me access to it? If not, my Google e-mail address is andreluis.g.silva. Thanks! — {EspyoT} 15:18, 15 August 2015 (EDT)

Ok, I've added you on there. --Porplemontage (talk) 16:40, 15 August 2015 (EDT)
Great, thanks! — {EspyoT} 16:56, 15 August 2015 (EDT)

Chugga and admins

Hi Porple. I've got two things to talk about. First, it looks like you were in charge of the Mario Wiki Chuggaaconroy partnership. We needed to get in contact with Chugga without it being too public. Would you happen to know the best way we can go about this? Secondly, we need to give powers to the folk that used to be admins back on wikia. Those would be ShadowRaptor101, Ymmot392, jpmrocks, and TheSneakySpy. I was meant to ask for this before, but I admit it – I kept forgetting... Can you give them sysop, then? Thanks a bunch! — {EspyoT} 13:39, 28 November 2015 (EST)

Sorry, I don't have any info for contacting Chuggaaconroy. I didn't initiate the talks and I can't find any emails or anything about it. With the admins, there is supposed to be a power structure where the bureaucrats do this and I remain hands-off. Given their relative inactivity, I'm going to make you one. --Porplemontage (talk) 15:31, 28 November 2015 (EST)
Oh, I didn't realize. Well, thank you. — {EspyoT} 08:44, 29 November 2015 (EST)

Difficulty with this website.

Howdy Porplemontage, I just can't upload files from other Wikis I tryed files from Nookipedia and Mario Wiki, but keep on getting warnigs for the JPG images, and said this for an allowed image type: "Cannot upload this file because Internet Explorer would detect it as "text/html", which is a disallowed and potentially dangerous file type." It's a JPG image, please fix it. Thanks! TabuuandPeach (talk) 10:53, 23 April 2016 (EDT)

It sounds like you're linking to the web page rather than directly to the image file. --Porplemontage (talk) 11:00, 23 April 2016 (EDT)

Well, I put in the Source URL, in this case the source URL was: http://www.mariowiki.com/File:Special_Nintendo%27s_Facebook_Valentine%27s_Day_cover.jpg I done that, I put in the Destination filename in this case the Destination filenames were File:Special_Nintendo_Facebook_Valentines_Day_Cover.jpg and Special Nintendo Facebook Valentines Day Cover.jpg, and put in the summary and that's when I ran into problems... TabuuandPeach (talk) 11:39, 23 April 2016 (EDT)

In that case, the source URL should be: http://www.mariowiki.com/images/thumb/8/8a/Special_Nintendo's_Facebook_Valentine's_Day_cover.jpg/800px-Special_Nintendo's_Facebook_Valentine's_Day_cover.jpg --Porplemontage (talk) 18:34, 23 April 2016 (EDT)

I left you a message.

I left you a message on your Talk page on Mario Wiki, here's the link to my message: http://www.mariowiki.com/User_talk:Porplemontage#A_few_questions. and im contacting you here because I have no email. Thanks! TabuuandPeach (talk) 16:20, 25 April 2016 (EDT)

You'll note that my page on there says "My talk page is not a help desk for the wiki. See our help pages or talk to another administrator unless the problem relates to a technical issue with the website." and your questions could have been answered by another admin. The German wiki is here and it's linked on the sidebar on the main page and all pages with corresponding articles. Your name can be whatever you want. --Porplemontage (talk) 16:27, 25 April 2016 (EDT)

I also said on the Mario Wiki on your talk page, same section, Same time it says: "Do I go by my username on the German Branch if it exists?" Because I finally know the German Branch exists you can answer here. TabuuandPeach (talk) 16:41, 25 April 2016 (EDT)

As I said above, your name can be whatever you want. You may go by your current username if you choose to, or you may go by a different name if you choose to. Enjoy! --Porplemontage (talk) 08:11, 26 April 2016 (EDT)

By the way how many edit and days until I become autoconfirmed on the German branch, I just created mine, 1 edit. TabuuandPeach (talk) 14:01, 26 April 2016 (EDT)

Who runs the German branch, if it's not you, I would like you to tell him or her that I would like to edit the Prinzessin Peach page, I think that either it's Semi-protected or fully-protected. Thanks! TabuuandPeach (talk) 14:27, 26 April 2016 (EDT)

I don't know anything about the German wiki. I'm guessing one of these. --Porplemontage (talk) 03:09, 28 April 2016 (EDT)

Left you another message.

On Mario Wiki... again here's the link: http://www.mariowiki.com/User_talk:Porplemontage#Problem_uploading_image TabuuandPeach MarchShroomCertificateA.jpg 17:12, 6 May 2016 (EDT)

I know this isn't related to this Wiki...

Okay on Mario Wiki, can you tell the admin that blocked me. That im sorry for what I did there. Thanks! TabuuandPeach MarchShroomCertificateA.jpg 20:29, 1 August 2016 (EDT)
