The '''Burrowing Snagret''' is an enemy in the Pikmin games. They are a splinch of birds and snakes, and are called Snavians (snake and avian, avian meaning 'bird-related'). They hide in the ground and surface when you approach. On occasions, the beast will get stuck with only its head above ground, giving the player an opportunity to attack without fear of losing any Pikmin. If it does fully emerge from the ground, it attempts to eat Pikmin one by one until it is attacked sufficiently, at which point it burrows back underground.

They hide in the ground and burrow out when you approach. Sometimes the time it takes to get out is different, and when it takes longer, you are able to attack its head easily. When it comes out, it will try to eat a maximum of 3 Pikmin, unless you are able to finish it off. In Pikmin 1, they are extremely hard to beat without losing Pikmin if you threw them at the head, as they have very high health, and they are larger in size. HOWEVER, they do not relocate when they bury themselves, meaning you could swarm your pikmin over where it last appeared and the Snagret would be dead in a matter of seconds, which can be seen in the Pikmin SpeedRun.  When you killed them, they exploded into many pellets. In Pikmin 2, you can now easily kill it after it burrows out as it has much lower health. In Pikmin 2, it would be good to use [[Purple Pikmin]]. You can now pick up the head.

The majority of Snagret species lies in wait to ambush and capture prey, with a body type perfectly adapted to such sudden strikes. It violently attacks small, surface-dwelling insects. Distributed across a relatively wide range, subspecies of Snagret suited to the varying soil conditions have emerged, making the Snagret the most geographically represented species beside the bulborb. Visually resembling the Burrowing Snagret is the snarrow, the range of which particularly overlaps with the snagret's range. While the two may appear similar, when pulled from the ground they can be distinguished by the presence or absences of tail and wing markings.

The Burrowing Snagret is an enemy in the Pikmin games.

In Pikmin 1, they are extremely hard to beat without losing Pikmin if thrown at the head, as they have very high health and are larger in size. When killed, they explode into many pellets. Their only locations in this first game are The Forest of Hope , and The Final Trial on Challenge Mode (Pikmin 1).

In Pikmin 2, defeating one is an easier task because of its lower health; even so, it remains a good idea to use Purple Pikmin. You can now pick up the head. One can be found on Sublevel 5 of the White Flower Garden, while many are encountered throughout Snagret Hole; one is even guarding the entrance. Another is in Sublevel 4 of Hole of Heroes, along with a Pileated Snagret on its final floor. Burrowing Snagrets are the most common boss-class enemies in Pikmin 2, having eight different in-game occurrences outside of Challenge Mode.

Sometimes this creature and the Pileated Snagret may remain alive with what appears to be little or no health.

In the in-game Piklopedia, the information provided speaks of a creature called the Burrowing Snarrow, this creature having never been seen in any game. It is unknown whether it will ever be seen.
