Pikmin 2 is a port of the original Pikmin 2 to the Nintendo Switch. It was revealed during a Nintendo Direct presentation on June 21st, 2023, alongside a port of Pikmin. Both were released on the eShop immediately after the presentation concluded. It is based off of New Play Control! Pikmin 2.

A bundle of this game and the Pikmin Switch port was also released as Pikmin 1 + 2. This bundle will recieve a physical release in Europe and Japan on September 22nd, 2023.

Gameplay

  • The game now sports an updated control scheme similar to Pikmin 3 Deluxe.
    • Icon for the Right Stick on the Nintendo Switch. Edited version of the icon by ARMS Institute user PleasePleasePepper, released under CC-BY-SA 4.0. is now used to freely control the camera.
    • In order to Swarm, the player must hold down Icon for the L button on the Nintendo Switch. Edited version of the icon by ARMS Institute user PleasePleasePepper, released under CC-BY-SA 4.0. while tilting Icon for the Right Stick on the Nintendo Switch. Edited version of the icon by ARMS Institute user PleasePleasePepper, released under CC-BY-SA 4.0..
    • Icon for the Left Stick click on the Nintendo Switch. Edited version of the icon by ARMS Institute user PleasePleasePepper, released under CC-BY-SA 4.0. now resets the cursor.
    • Pressing Custom-made icon for the - Button on the Nintendo Switch. shows a screen displaying the game’s controls.
    • Motion Controls can be enabled from the Controls screen.
      • If enabled, tilting the controller while holding Icon for the A button on the Nintendo Switch. Edited version of the icon by ARMS Institute user PleasePleasePepper, released under CC-BY-SA 4.0. or Icon for the B button on the Nintendo Switch.   • The Ai no Uta and Tane no Uta easter eggs have been removed, likely as a result of licensing issues.
