Character A (Also known as Oerstead, Gorgason, and Bob) is one of the new characters in Pikmin 3. A is the blue captain that has teal hair similar to Captain Olimar's, a slightly smaller nose compared to most Hocotatians, and rosy cheeks. His eyes are always open, much like when other characters like Olimar or Louie are surprised. Character A's spacesuit has a blue collar in the front which points downwards, with a seam running down the front. Nothing else is known of this character at the time due to no information being released by Nintendo.

- Character A was the only character playable in the E3 2012 Pikmin 3 demo.
- His eyes are always wide open, like Louie's are when he first sees a Pikmin.
- In the demo, the sound of his whistle is the same as Olimar's in the first two games.
