The Bowsprit (バウスプリット?, lit.: "Bowsprit") is a ship part in Pikmin and Olimar's Shipwreck Tale in Pikmin 4. It is the "face" of the S.S. Dolphin, designed by Captain Olimar, and gives the Dolphin its sleek shape. In Pikmin, it can be found inside the Armored Cannon Beetle in the central tree stump of The Distant Spring.

Once recovered, it is installed on its rightful place, as the nose of the Dolphin.

Location of the Bowsprit.

Getting it requires many steps. First, defeat all Bulbears and Puffy Blowhogs that will be in the way back to the ship. There are two paths to get to it: either cross the fire geysers near the Armored Cannon Beetle or take the safe route near the landing site by building the twig and unplugging the geyser. Then defeat the Beetle and retrieve the part. Build the bridge and destroy the gate so Red Pikmin can carry it back to the Dolphin, defeating the Shearwigs along the way.

In Pikmin 4

The following article or section is in need of assistance from someone who plays Pikmin 4.
Particularly: Add a guide on how to acquire the part.

The Bowsprit is located directly east from the starting base of Seren Shore, all the way near the edge of the map. You'll need 30 Blue Pikmin to carry it and Moss' swimming ability to reach it. Make sure to defeat the enemies and clear the obstacles that are in the way so the Pikmin can carry it safely back to base.

Notes

Olimar's monologs

I've discovered the Bowsprit!

With this piece installed, my ship should regain some of its sleek shape.

The so-called face of the Dolphin. In point of fact, I designed it.
