Abilities

In general, purple pikmin are considered far stronger and faster than any other Pikmin. When carrying an object, such as a pellet or treasure, or when weighing something down, such as a scale, they account for 10 pikmin rathar than 1. Purple pikmin are also incredibly deadly in battle, for they can kill weaker enemies and stun stronger ones just by landing on them. In fact, purple pikmin are the key to defeating the Water Wraith, as the power of their landings cause the creature to become vunerable. It should also be that, when thrown, purple pikmin tend to home in on enemies. When moving, purple tend to travel the slowest due to their imense weight. Oddly enough, despite their incredible weight, purple pikmin seem to trip far less often than other pikmin.

Obtaining Purple Pikmin

Similar to white pikmin, purple pikmin can only be obtained by throwing other colors of Pikmin in to a Candypop Bud; in the case of the Purple Pikmin, the player must throw non-purple Pikmin into a Violet Candypop Bud. Three candypop buds are found in the Hole of Emergence, but they disappear after a certain amount of Purple Pikmin is reached.

Brawl Trophy

A type of Pikmin, much heavier and slower than other Pikmin. When thrown, they impact with such force that they may kill or stun enemies. They're also incredibly strong--one of them can carry an item that normally would require ten Pikmin. While they're more powerful fighters than their red cousins, their slow speed hampers their effectiveness.
