Golden Candypop Buds (キイロポンガシグサ) are yellow Candypop Buds found in the first three Pikmin games. They behave exactly like all other Candypop Buds, except when non-Yellow Pikmin are thrown in, they will change into Yellow Pikmin. If Yellows are thrown in, they will be reverted to leaf stages, and don't count against the 5 Pikmin limit per Candypop Bud; this only applies to Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3. In Pikmin, this bud can be used up to 50 times to get massive amounts of Yellow Pikmin, but Yellow Pikmin themselves do count against the limit.

This particular Candypop Bud is the rarest kind in Pikmin 2, as only one is found, inside the Glutton's Kitchen on sublevel 3. It is more common in Pikmin 3, as electrodes require Yellow Pikmin and some of them are mandatory to beat the game. However, it is also the only Candypop Bud never to appear in Mission Mode.

Golden Candypop Buds (キイロポンガシグサ?, lit.: "Yellow Puffed Grain Weed") are yellow Candypop Buds in Pikmin 2. They behave the same as all other Candypop Buds, except when non-Yellow Pikmin are thrown in, they will change into Yellow Pikmin. If Yellow Pikmin are thrown in, they will be reverted to the leaf maturity. Only one is found in the whole game, in the Glutton's Kitchen on sublevel 3.

Notes

Olimar's notes

No matter what color Pikmin is tossed into the bosom of this flower, it spits out the same number of yellow Pikmin seeds. Current research has yet to produce any theories as to precisely what kind of interaction causes the Pikmin to change color to match the color of this flower's petals.

Louie's notes

This tart flower's acidic juices can burn a hole through a frying pan. Eating it would be unwise.

Pikmin 2 Nintendo Player's Guide

The rare Golden Candypop Bud transforms any Pikmin type into yellow Pikmin sprouts.
