Rock Pikmin are a new species of Pikmin featured in [[Pikmin 3]]. They are slow and simply appear to be rocks with pikmin's eyes, limbs, and violet flowers, just like the [[Pink Pikmin]].

Rock Pikmin can survive ice hazards and attacks, and attack enemies with such abilities. Their hard form also allows them to be thrown at and break glass and ice barriers.
In the trailer, it has been shown they are capable of breaking down a new sort of what appears to be an [[Gate|icy gate]], as well as defeating the new [[Armored Mawdad]] boss. They also have purple flowers instead of pink or white.


They appear to be able to carry the same normal capacity as any other Pikmin. Despite their strength, they have a setback; Rock Pikmin cannot latch onto their targets. It can be assumed that they are somewhat similar to the [http://pikmin.wikia.com/wiki/Purple_Pikmin Purple Pikmin], at least in terms of girth and size. The Captains have no issue throwing the Rock Pikmin. Due to their unique properties, it could be assumed they would be very useful, if not vital, in certain combat situations.
 
 
 
==Obtaining Rock Pikmin==
 
 
So far, the only known way to obtain rock Pikmin is to have a [[Medusal Slurker]] suck up normal Pikmin into it's body, which will turn them into Rock Pikmin. Then, you must defeat the Slurker to get the Pikmin back. Being rock-like in nature, it is unlikely there will be a rock [[Candypop Bud]].

Rock Pikmin are the seventh type of Pikmin discovered in the Pikmin series, first seen at E3 2012. Unlike most other Pikmin, the bodies of these Pikmin are rock, hence the name "Rock Pikmin". They will be a Pikmin type in the upcoming Pikmin 3.
