Spotty Bulbear
Artwork of a Spotty Bulbear in Pikmin 3.
The Spotty Bulbear is a powerful enemy that appears in every mainline game in the Pikmin series.
While they resemble Bulborbs at a glance, Spotty Bulbears lack their pointed snouts and generally have a rounder face, with large, chapped lips. They have black, red-dotted backs, and their faces are creamy yellow or orange. The Bulbears' larger mouths allow them to gobble Pikmin up in greater number and speed than most other Bulborb species, making them rather formidable adversaries.
While they spend most of their time sleeping until disturbed in Pikmin, they are constantly awake in all other games, and will freely patrol the entire area in search of prey. Spotty Bulbears are often accompanied by their Dwarf Bulbear offspring, who follow their 'parent' on their patrols in search of food.

Although this creature is commonly associated with spiders, it is actually the result of a separate evolutionary line of insectoid creatures. Since the spherical body section supported by the creature's legs carries most of its internal organs, there appear to be no other features that would correspond to a head or abdomen.
