The Engulfed Castle is a cave in the Serene Shores in Pikmin 4. It has five sublevels. Only Blue Pikmin can access its entrance, though hazards of all types appear. Glow Pikmin spawned from Glow Seeds can be utilized to clear otherwise dangerous hazards. The boss of this cave, the Waterwraith, is unique in that they will drop from the celling after enough time has passed in any sublevel. It can instantly kill enemies and Pikmin, and cannot be stopped without Purple Pikmin. It has an exit leading to the top of an otherwise inaccessible hill.

This cave acts as a homage ‐ and at times remaster ‐ of the Submerged Castle from Pikmin 2, with some sublevels being nearly identical.

How to reach

Inbetween the Blossoming Dunes and Water's Edge bases is a buildable bridge to link them. Building it is unnecessary to accessing the cave, as the entrance is instead underneath what it would be built within a flooded alcove. Now matter if the water is drained or not, the entrance will always be surrounded by water, meaning only Blue Pikmin can enter and exit from here.

The exit can also be used to re-enter the cave. Because it is not submerged, any pikmin type can enter or exit from here. It is found in the area behind the Water's Edge base, up from the paper bag that much be pushed down beforehand.
