A Flarlic (ガーリップ^?, lit.: "Garlip") is an object in Pikmin 4 that increases the Pikmin limit for Pikmin out in the field. A Flarlic resembles a colorless Onion. Once collected and brought to the Onion, 10 more Pikmin will be allowed out in the field up to a maximum of 100. Each Flaric weighs 5 units with a maximum carrier count of 10. In area summaries, a Flarlic is considered an Onion.

Flarlic that is collected when the Pikmin limit is already at 100 will instead produce nectar and ultra-spicy nectar.

Locations

In the main story, there are 12 Flarlics to find, 2 in each area. Only the first 8 collected allow the Pikmin field population to increase. In Olimar's Shipwreck Tale, there are only 8 Flarlics, half of which are found in the Serene Shores.

Sun-Speckled Terrace

• Above ground
  • Inside a pot on a high-ledge. Yellow Pikmin are recommended but not required.
• Last-Frost Cavern, sublevel 1
  • Behind a group of pots requiring Oatchi or a bomb rock to break down.

Blossoming Arcadia

• Above ground
  • Near the Misshapen Pond base, on a ledge above water.

Serene Shores

  • In the big lake inside a Pearly Clamclamp.

Olimar's Notes

“While it doesn't sprout or create Pikmin, this specimen is still a type of Onion. A bulb like this one can be divided into seven segments, is highly nutrient dense, and contains strong energizing and analeptic effects.

The compunds responsible for its characteristic smell resemble Onion growth hormones. When absorbed by an Onion, it fulfills a critical role in Pikmin proliferation by increasing the total number of Pikmin that can be withdrawn from the Onion at any given time.

Just like Onions, it contains muscle fibers, but flarlic has no animalistic qualities to speak of. However, if you place one near an Onion, it may start to move a bit, as though it’s trying to roll over so it can be absorbed.”
