The Cupid's Grenade is a treasure in Pikmin 2 and a fruit in Pikmin 3, and is a cherry. In Pikmin 2, it is found in the Snagret Hole, and is worth 20 Pokos. In Pikmin 3, it is found twice in the Distant Tundra and once in the Tropical Wilds, and contributes half a bottle of juice to the player's supply (a quarter in Ultra-Spicy difficulty). This fruit also plays a special role in 2-Player Battle and Bingo Battle, as collecting one in those modes gives the player a power-up.

Collecting the treasure[edit]

The Cupid's Grenade in Pikmin 2 is found on sublevel 4 of the Snagret Hole, and is located in one of the many alcoves of the sublevel, near multiple Armored Cannon Beetle Larvae and other hazards. Like with most treasures, it is recommended to defeat the enemies in between the Research Pod and the treasure before collecting it.

Collecting the fruit[edit]

Tropical Wilds[edit]

The Cupid's Grenade in the Tropical Wilds is on a small island in a lake just north of the landing site. One Blue Pikmin or Winged Pikmin is all that is needed to recover the fruit.

Distant Tundra (landing site)[edit]

The Distant Tundra has 2 of this kind of fruit. One is located on top of a snowman near the landing site, slightly buried in the ground. While it seems like it requires Yellow Pikmin to obtain due to its height, any Pikmin can reach the fruit. It is closer to the landing site than any other fruit in the game.

Distant Tundra (northwest)[edit]

The other Cupid's Grenade in the Distant Tundra is next to an iron ball embedded within a snowdrift at the top of a hill, in the northwest of the main segment of the area. This fruit is directly on the main route through the story in the area, so it is very easy to collect.

In 2-Player Battle and Bingo Battle[edit]

Player 1 carries a cherry and uses a power-up to attack Player 2.

The Cupid's Grenade appears in 2-Player Battle and Bingo Battle, and plays a special role in each of these modes. During a match, cherries will spawn in various locations in the stage every once in a while, increasing in frequency as the match continues. They can be carried very rapidly back to a team's Onion, and upon doing so, the player will obtain a random power-up. A roulette wheel will spin in the HUD and when it finishes spinning, the player who collected the cherry can press a button to use the power-up. By collecting multiple cherries, each player can have additional powerups stored, up to 5 at a time. A list of powerups is available at 2-Player Battle#Roulette wheel and Bingo Battle#Items.

What a perplexing plant... It appears to be carrying two different types of berries! They must be a rare species of fruit. Both have odd traits. One seems to be a suppressant, while the other is a stimulant. It's not easy to tell which is which. I'd better be careful with them. I should also warn Louie, or else he may try to bake these berries in a pie.

What a perplexing fruit... It appears to possess two curiously conflicting traits. At times, consuming it can bring forth wonderful feelings of love and affection. At other times, it can completely suppress all romantic inclinations. Its unpredictable nature means that I must be careful with it. I'll also warn Louie, or else he's liable to try baking it in a pie.

Sales pitch

Fate's tapestry has unraveled. Tomorrow weeps. Romance has fallen, love is madness. ...To mend the rift between two cross lovers, this is the ultimate weapon in Cupid's arsenal.

Brittany's notes

Yes! The people of Koppai will be thrilled that we found this sweet, entirely delicious food source. They'll adore us forever when we introduce them to the weapon of mass nutrition.

Golden Grenades are fruits only found in Mission Mode, Bingo Battle, and Side Stories in Pikmin 3. They are golden versions of the Cupid's Grenade, and are worth a lot more Pokos. In Bingo Battle, they play a role similar to Cupid's Grenades in the fact that they give the player items via roulette; however they award five power-ups at once. As a result, they are much rarer than Cupid's Grenades. According to loading screen tips in Mission Mode, they are packed with Piktamin U.
