The Golden Vaulting Table (金の跳び箱?, lit.: "Golden Vaulting Box") is a treasure in Pikmin 4. It is a gold ingot. It is present only once in Story Mode, in the Primordial Thicket. It is the heaviest and most valuable treasure in the game, and according to the writing on it, it weighs one kilogram (about 2.2 pounds).

On it, it reads:

PRECIOUS METAL (G)
999.9
FINE GOLD
GOLD BAR NOBLE METAL
1 KILO

Collecting the treasure[edit]

The treasure is found in the Primordial Thicket behind some iron fences and requires a full squad of Purple Pikmin to carry. Before obtaining it, the sticky mold that is trapping it must be destroyed. Due to the area being blocked by iron fences and the ledge to it being too high to jump on, Oatchi is unable to help carry it back until the treasure has been brought down from the ledge, unless glitches are used. Make sure to defeat all enemies in between this treasure and the base before carrying the treasure.

Weight[edit]

The label on the Golden Vaulting Table says that the this object weighs 1 kilogram; this discovery, like with the Doomsday Apparatus, has lead to a lot of confusion. Although creating a formula from this would allow easy conversion between the in-game weight units and real-world units, the theory breaks down when real-world objects are weighed and compared to the weights predicted. For example, the Joy-Con treasures, the Telekinesis Detector and Connection Detector, weigh 10 units each, while real Joy-Con controllers weigh as much as 48 or 52 grams, respectively.

When playing on the Fierce creature Activity Level, the Golden Vaulting Table's weight is reduced to 600 units instead of 1000. This is because this Activity Level limits the player to only 60 Pikmin in the field, meaning the maximum possible carrying strength from Purple Pikmin is only 600.

Notes[edit]

Schnauz's notes[edit]

This shiny table is used in a ceremony meant to bring good luck with money. It works like this: jump over the table once, and make a profit. Jump over it twice, and make a fortune. Jump over it thrice, and the sky opens and money rains down on you. Or so one hopes, anyway.

Olimar's notes[edit]

Apparently if you can jump over this, you'll be blessed with great wealth. I'm not the superstitious type, but I'm tempted to give it a try. I could use the extra cash. The only things standing in my way are my poor middle-aged hip joints...

Louie's notes[edit]

I bet this would bring in the big bucks.

Trivia[edit]

  • This treasure is very similar to the Doomsday Apparatus from Pikmin 2. They are both:
    • The heaviest treasure in their respective games, requiring 100 Purple Pikmin to lift, although the Golden Vaulting Table only requires 60 if playing on Fierce.
    • Noted to weigh one kilogram.
    • The most valuable treasure in their respective games.
    • Found on the surface in the final area in their respective games.
  • Assuming Oatchi's buff skill has been fully upgraded, granting him 100 carry power, a minimum of 90 other Pikmin are required to carry the treasure once it has been brought down from the ledge (50 on Fierce). However, it is possible via a glitch using ultra-spicy spray to get Oatchi through the iron bars and help carry it from where it is initially found.[source needed] Alternatively, an object can be used to help Oatchi get up to the treasure.
