The Anxious Sprout (ソダチノコ^?, lit.: "Child of Growth") is a treasure found in Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 4. It is a bamboo sprout. In Pikmin 2, the treasure is found on sublevel 5 of the Bulblax Kingdom, a sublevel known for its extreme darkness, Dwarf Orange Bulborbs, Orange Bulborbs, and its maze-like layout along with many bomb-rocks. The Anxious Sprout is also present in two Challenge Mode levels: Once in the Novice Training, sublevel 1 and once in the Hot House, sublevel 1.

In Pikmin 4, it is likewise found in a dangerous cave, the Kingdom of Beasts on sublevel 2, and is once again found buried, this time entirely. It is also present in the Giant's Hearth near two Dwarf Bulbears. Additionally, it is present in 3 Dandori Challenge levels: Once in the Rockaway Cellars, three times in the Oasis of Order and once in the 8th Story of the Trial of the Sage Leaf.

Collecting the treasure in Pikmin 2

The following article or section contains guides. The strategies shown are just suggestions.

It is mostly buried in the ground, with only a small tip visible. Use White Pikmin to quickly dig it out. Be careful while digging it out, because there is a good chance this will trigger a bomb-rock to fall onto your working Pikmin.

There is an Anxious Sprout completely buried near the southeastern corner of sublevel 2 of the Kingdom of Beasts. It can be located with the Treasure Gauge or Oatchi. It is guarded by an Orange Bulborb, which should be defeated before attempting to collect this treasure, although it is not strictly necessary. To collect this treasure, you must throw 10 Pikmin in its vicinity.

Giant's Hearth

It is half-buried in a mound of ash near the mid-north of the overworld. It is guarded by two Dwarf Bulbears, which should be defeated before attempting to collect it. To collect this treasure, you must throw 10 Pikmin at it.

Notes

Olimar's journal

“I just realized I completely forgot to put something in my latest expedition report. When carrying fallen creatures or pellets, Pikmin will take them to the Onion of their same color. If a mixed crew of Pikmin are carrying spoils, the color majority dictates the destination. Carry pellets to same-colored Onions to maximize Pikmin seed production.”

Sales pitch

“A quick-growing plant. Good for garden hobbyists or for a snack. Use it however you see fit!”

Schnauz's notes

“This plant grows very fast, which makes it a joy to tend to for garden enthusiasts. It also makes a great snack. Isn't it nice when a thing brings happiness to your life in more than one way? I say those are the sorts of things worth keeping around!”

Olimar's notes

“This plant grows so fast it reminds me of my own children. One day they are little babies in my arms, the next day they've sprouted up into fully fledged people! I have my wife to thank for that. She does so much while I'm so frequently away for work.”

Louie's notes

“These delights grow fast, but not faster than I can eat them. I'd be happy to prove it.”
