The Crunchy Deluge (シャクシャクノミ?, lit.: "Shak-shak Fruit") is a fruit in Pikmin 3 and a treasure in Pikmin 4. It is an Asian pear. There is only one in Pikmin 3's Story Mode, and it is located in the Twilight River, where it is underwater and guarded by a Toady Bloyster. This means it can only be retrieved by Blue Pikmin. Although identical to the Astringent Clump in weight and juice provided, they are different fruits. In Pikmin 4, it appears in the Primordial Thicket and The Mud Pit.

The Crunchy Deluge is found in the Twilight River. It is found underwater at the very end of the river in the southernmost part of the region, guarded by a Toady Bloyster. Kill or distract the Bloyster and retrieve the fruit with Blue Pikmin.

Collecting the treasureEdit

Primordial ThicketEdit

There is a Crunchy Deluge trapped in a sticky mold near the north of the Primordial Thicket, just south of the northernmost room. To collect this treasure, you must first clear out the mushrooms to remove the mold. Then, throw 12 Pikmin at it.

The Mud PitEdit

There is a Crunchy Deluge inside of a Mamuta at the northeastern island of sublevel 1 of The Mud Pit. To collect this treasure, you must first defeat the Mamuta, then throw 12 Pikmin at it.

Notes

Brittany's notes

  US version
Lots of juice in here, like having your mouth flooded in sweetness. Not much Piktamin U, but nutrition isn't everything. Sometimes you just want a natural disaster of flavor, you know?
  European version
Lots of juice in here, and it's like having your taste buds washed away on a tide of sweetness. Not much in the way of Piktamin U, but nutrition isn't everything. Sometimes you just want a flood of flavour...

Schnauz's notesEdit

The amount of moisture contained inside this fruit is quite shocking! Underestimate it, and you might bite down only to find yourself awash in a sea of juice! Be sure to have a snorkel at the ready when eating one of these.

Olimar's notesEdit

This fruit has a high water content, and its skin is so thin that you can bite right through it. It'd be the most perfect snack to keep in your pack on a long hike through the desert, if only it didn't bruise so easily.

Louie's notesEdit

I consider this more of a drink than a fruit.
