The goolix family is a family of large single-celled organisms, introduced in Pikmin, although the family went unclassified until Pikmin 4. It has two members, which are both bosses. They are both blobs of substance that can stretch and have cores that the Pikmin should attack. They are both described as massive single celled organisms. Members belong to the mononuclei and (unofficially) the binuclei genus.

FoolixEdit

Main article: Foolix.

Scientific name: Mononuclei stellacodus

The Foolix is a boss from Pikmin 4 that disguises itself as a drop of nectar when it is actually an enormous creature. However, unlike the Goolix, it attacks like the Mysterious Life-Form by trapping the Pikmin inside of it.

GoolixEdit

Main article: Goolix.

Scientific name: Binuclei siphonophorus

The Goolix is a boss that only appears in Pikmin in The Impact Site on odd-numbered days from day 9 (the player will encounter the Mamuta on even-numbered days from day 8 instead). It attacks by drowning Pikmin that touches it; therefore, Blue Pikmin are immune to it.

NamingEdit

The name of the family comes from the Goolix, which comes from the word "goo".
