The Hypnotic Platter is a bottle top found in Pikmin 2. It is found in sublevel 13 of the Dream Den, inside one of the large, sleeping Bulborbs in the level. Use Purple Pikmin to defeat all the Bulborbs in the way and carry the treasure to the ship's pod. The Hypnotic Platter is actually an A&W bottle cap.
In the PAL version of Pikmin 2, this treasure is a 'Vita-Malz' bottle cap. It is found above ground, on a tree stump in the Awakening Wood.

Strange story... When I inspected this item on the planet's surface, I was suddenly overcome with such a raging thirst that I thought I might fall unconscious. Having no tasty beverage at hand, I had to resort to licking the condensation from the inside of my helmet. I feel such shame.
Sales Pitch
The bizarre insignia on this serrated platter inspires inexplicable feelings of pleasure that can only be replicated by a long, cool drink. Or so I am told.
