Hello! I like Pikmin, and I also like wikis, so I like to help out on Pikipedia to help improve the website. I usually make small edits to articles to improve the quality of writing, but sometimes I make more substantial edits.
administrator
Hello! I'm Soprano, formerly called Botanist. I'm an active editor and administrator here on Pikipedia. If you need to ask me a question about the wiki, feel free to ask on my talk page, or join Pikipedia's Discord server and ask there.

The Pikmin series is my favorite game series (though none of its games are my favorite games on their own), and p3 is my favorite game in the series. I'm looking forward to seeing and documenting exactly what changes in p3d.
Me and the wiki
I first learned about Pikmin when p3 came out. I didn't know about Pikipedia or any game wiki at the time. I got npcp1 for my Wii, but it was too hard for me and I stopped playing halfway through. In mid-2014 I got a Wii U and Pikmin 3, and that game was much more doable. I got npcp2 in early 2016, and it was also too difficult, mainly because I didn't want to lose any Purple Pikmin.

(I'm not an actual botanist, but I am interested in the strange life on PNF-404, so I thought Botanist was a good username for this wiki.)
In late 2016, I found Pikipedia, through Bulbapedia. I started reading the wiki, and for the first few months of 2017 it was one of my favorite websites. I was eventually able to beat Pikmin 2 with some help from the wiki, and later Pikmin as well. (When I say "I" in this paragraph and the last, I really mean "I and the person I live with"; until 2019, they played a lot more Pikmin than I did, and I mostly watched.) Throughout this time, I read the wiki a lot, eventually reading pretty much every article on the site, but I never thought of editing it. I got hp when it came out, but by then I wasn't reading the wiki much.

Things I've done
A few years later, I finally decided to join Pikipedia in January 2020. At first I didn't edit very much, doing a few small edits and projects. But in August, p3d was announced. On the Pikmin Discord server (Pikcord), I became one of the most active theorists about the new game, looking at promotional material and discussing it with others. And on Pikipedia, I started uploading lots of promotional images and screenshots from trailers about this game. This led me to start editing more things. In particular, I noticed that the Menu article was getting very large and was lacking a lot of Pikmin 3 and Hey! Pikmin information. I proposed to split the article into smaller articles about each menu screen to allow this extra information to be documented, and the resulting project to split the article and document more menu screens was my first major Pikipedia project. When Pikmin 3 Deluxe came out, I uploaded a lot of screenshots to the wiki, mostly of the Side Stories stages, while documenting its new and updated features as well.
* Added Bingo Battle locations to Nectar egg

* Wrote much of the History section of p3d
In 2021, I started making more diverse edits to the wiki. I did various small projects throughout the year, such as researching hints and objectives, making Pikmin 3 Deluxe area maps, and rewriting some notable pages, including Pikipedia:About, Help:Editing, and Pikmin family. On 21, my username was changed from Botanist to Soprano to match the name I use on the Pikcord. When pb was released, I became the most active contributor of information about the new game, creating several articles, doing research with others, and documenting community findings.
* Uploaded most of the Pikmin 3 Deluxe prerelease images

* Rewrote the introduction to Area
In 2022, I continued to document the frequent changes to Pikmin Bloom (which became rather annoying to do after a while), as well as do other wiki projects. I wrote an article on weight, looked through every file on the wiki to revive the featured image system, and analyzed the entire Hey! Pikmin soundtrack. On 4, I was promoted to patroller on the wiki, and a year later on 15, I was promoted to administrator.
* Helped split the Menu article and added lots of Pikmin 3 information to them

* Created Difficulty and Olimar's Assignment
When p4 came out in 2023, I helped coordinate the documentation of the new game in the Discord channel, and mostly worked on cleanup and technical changes on the wiki. It was fantastic to see articles gradually get created, with so many people helping the wiki to steadily document information. While there's still a lot to do, it's great that the wiki has documented so much about Pikmin 4 in the first few months after its release.

Plans
These are some projects I planned to do at some point, but now that Pikmin 4 is out, it'll likely be a while before I get to any of these. Feel free to work on them if you want – a wiki is never complete, and when there are more people helping out, it's a better resource for everyone.
*Clean up every treasure and ship part article, to standardize the format and improve the treatment of regional differences.
*Play Hey! Pikmin again very thoroughly to expand all the articles about it.
*Add thorough layout descriptions to areas and stages in all game modes.
*Make detailed SVG maps of areas.

Hello! I'm Soprano, formerly called Botanist. I'm an active editor and administrator here on Pikipedia. If you need to ask me a question about the wiki, feel free to ask on my talk page, or join Pikipedia's Discord server and ask there.

Me and the wiki

I first learned about Pikmin when Pikmin 3 came out. I didn't know about Pikipedia or any game wiki at the time. I got New Play Control! Pikmin for my Wii, but it was too hard for me and I stopped playing halfway through. In mid-2014 I got a Wii U and Pikmin 3, and that game was much more doable. I got New Play Control! Pikmin 2 in early 2016, and it was also too difficult, mainly because I didn't want to lose any Purple Pikmin.

I got Hey! Pikmin when it came out, but by then I wasn't reading the wiki much.

A few years later, I finally decided to join Pikipedia in January 2020. At first I didn't edit very much, doing a few small edits and projects. But in August, Pikmin 3 Deluxe was announced.

In 2021, I started making more diverse edits to the wiki. I did various small projects throughout the year, such as researching hints and objectives, making Pikmin 3 Deluxe area maps, and rewriting some notable pages, including Pikipedia:About, Help:Editing, and Pikmin family. On August 21st, 2021, my username was changed from Botanist to Soprano to match the name I use on the Pikcord. When Pikmin Bloom was released, I became the most active contributor of information about the new game, creating several articles, doing research with others, and documenting community findings.

On April 4th, 2022, I was promoted to patroller on the wiki, and a year later on May 15th, 2023, I was promoted to administrator.

When Pikmin 4 came out in 2023, I helped coordinate the documentation of the new game in the Discord channel, and mostly worked on cleanup and technical changes on the wiki.

 • Clean up every treasure and ship part article, to standardize the format and improve the treatment of regional differences.
 • Play Hey! Pikmin again very thoroughly to expand all the articles about it.
 • Add thorough layout descriptions to areas and stages in all game modes.
 • Make detailed SVG maps of areas.
