The Venom Dweevil (ミドリショイグモ?, lit.: "Green Carrying Spider") is an enemy in Pikmin 4. Like other members of the dweevil family, it will carry nearby treasure and enemy corpses. When attacked, it emits a cloud of poison gas, making the poison-immune White Pikmin and Glow Pikmin a safe option for a battle against it.
The Venom Dweevil greatly resembles the Munge Dweevil in both appearance and behavior, except that it is turquoise instead of purple.

BehaviorEdit
As with most Dweevils, Venom Dweevils will attempt to pick up and carry nearby treasures, corpses, and Castaways; it is often necessary to defeat them in order to obtain certain treasures, or to prevent them from interrupting transit. If left alone after it picks up something, it will hide under it, only moving when Pikmin or a Leader approach. On top of being able to carry these items, Venom Dweevils (and all other Dweevils) can actually carry any object that is directly carryable by Pikmin, notably useable items from the Pack, can be carried by the Dweevil. This even includes Firestarters, although this can only be seen with Fiery Dweevils in Giant's Hearth ingame. Items that can explode, like Bomb Rocks or Ice Blasts can be used by the Dweevil when it has a target in its sights, replicating the ability of the Volatile Dweevil from Pikmin 2. It should be noted that Dweevils are not immune to the effects of these bombs, and will immediately die or become frozen as a result of the blast. This can be directly observed ingame in the Engulfed Castle, where Venom Dweevils spawn holding Bomb Rocks.
They are largely passive to Pikmin, and will attempt to run away from them, only attacking in self-defense. If provoked by attacks, they will defend themselves by emitting a cloud of toxic gas. This gas will poison any non-White Pikmin and will additionally poison Oatchi if he does not have his 
Pup Sniff Saver upgrade, requiring the player to whistle to save them.

White Pikmin are completely immune to the Venom Dweevil's attacks, making them the most obvious choice to fight one. However, given the rarity of White Pikmin throughout much of the game, it may instead be a better idea to charge the Dweevil with a group of Ice Pikmin, to freeze and shatter it before it can react.
LeadersEdit
Your player character is completely immune to poison even without upgrades, meaning that they can safely punch the Dweevil to death with no risk to themselves, although it will likely take a while without the Triple Threat upgrade.
Oatchi is not innately immune to poison without his Pup Sniff Saver upgrade, but the Dweevil itself is frail enough that Oatchi can likely kill it before it can attack him, especially if his Chomp skill has been trained. If his Rush skill has been sufficiently upgraded, a direct hit will instantly kill the Dweevil as well.

- Common name: Venom Dweevil, referring to the Dweevil's ability to create poison gas, although venom refers to poison that is injected.
- Japanese nickname: ミドリショイグモ?. It translates to "Green Carrying Spider", referring to how it carries things on its back, and how it is green.
- Japanese name: セオイカナエグモ?, lit.: "Carrying Ding Spider". It is shared with the Fiery, Anode, Hydro, Munge, Volatile, and Iceblown Dweevils.
- Scientific name: Mandarachnia venenum. Venenum is Latin for "potion" or "juice", and a play off of "venom".

- The Venom Dweevil is practically identical to the Munge Dweevil from Pikmin 2, only differing in color. This is humorously referenced in Dalmo's notes for the creature, where he notes that there "once was a purple one as well, but this year's trendy color is green."
- Additionally, Olimar's notes on the Venom Dweevil are largely identical to his notes on the Munge Dweevil, only changing the name and minor wording. Louie's notes are completely identical.
