The Paleontology is a series of treasures in both Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 4. As the name implies, both series focus on fossils.

The Paleontology Series (新種発見!?シリーズ?, lit.: "New Species Found!? Series") is the sixth collection of treasures in the Treasure Hoard found in the game Pikmin 2. The series covers all treasures numbered from 43 to 51 (43 to 50 in the Japanese version). The treasures consist of different remains of animals, such as mollusks.

The Paleontology Series is a series listed in the Treasure Catalog in Pikmin 4. It consists of four treasures, two of which are fossils of aquatic animals, and the other two are fish-themed food items mistakenly believed to be fossils by the main cast. All the treasures in this series are worth Icon that represents Sparklium on the wiki, based on the icon found in Pikmin 4. × 1020, and an extra Icon that represents Sparklium on the wiki, based on the icon found in Pikmin 4. × 234 is given when the entire series has been collected.
