Sheargrub

Sheargrubs are small, grub-like enemies in both Pikmin games. They hide under the surface until the player (or a group of Pikmin) passes by, at which point they will emerge and attack. While they are not especially dangerous and have little health, they are infamous for tearing apart the bridges that Pikmin construct.
