'''Antenna Beetles''' are creatures in Pikmin 2 that are an exceptional nuisance. They create extremely loud noises with their wings that are so loud, the supersonic waves disrupt the signal on the [[Treasure Gauge]]. Also, they are able to take command of any Pikmin that are nearby; the only way to get them back is to kill it, or make it jump away. Having your Pikmin captured could be dangerous, because this creature may lead them into a hazard. If this creature is swarmed, it will be frightened and jump very high and far. Eventually, it will stumble and fall back down. This also occurs if you get near it, or punch it with your pilots. The best way to beat it is to throw your Pikmin on it. [[Purple Pikmin]] work the best, as they may stun it, preventing it from getting up and jumping away.
You will find it only in specific sublevels of certain caves. You will know immediately if one is in the area because the Treasure Gauge will go haywire, glow purple, and make malfunctioning bleeps.

Antenna Beetles are creatures in Pikmin 2 that can pose a danger to your Pikmin, but not directly. They use their wings to produce sounds of a high pitch, which interferes with the Treasure Gauge and attracts Pikmin, much as the Captains' whistles do. That effect overides any similar commands you can issue, so they are able to take command of any Pikmin that are nearby; the only way to regain control of them is to kill it, or force it into leaping away again. Having your Pikmin captured is where the danger comes in, because this creature may lead them into a hazard. The beast periodically jumps away and returns, stumbling as it lands, and can be led into disembarking in such a manner by attacking it. Approaching the beast often has a similar effect. In attack, swarm as it lands or throw Pikmin on; Purple Pikmin work the best, as they may stun it, preventing it from getting up and jumping away.

The Anntenna Beetle is relatively rare, found in only a few underground locations. The Treasure Gauge being dysfunctional is an absolute indication that one is on the same sublevel as Olimar.
